I don't know how much playing time he'll get being a 69 overall, but I'll try to get him a few reps!

          2009 Season Preview
          Mountaineers eying Big East Title

          OFFENSIVE OVERVIEW

Jarrett Brown will be taking the reigns at quarterback after the graduation of Pat White. However, Pat's little brother, Coley White, is likely to see a good amount of reps in certain packages to groom him for next year. Devine will look to continue to star, but will get help from a legitimate inside runner in Terence Kerns this year, which should help out the Mountaineers' chances in short yardage situations. Will Johnson will handle fullbacking duties once again while the wide receiver corps looks very much improved in an attack which is sure to see more passing this year. Tyler Urban will get the nod at tight end.
          Starters:
QB Jarrett Brown, SR - 90
HB Noel Devine, JR - 94
FB Will Johnson, JR - 81
WR Jock Sanders, JR - 86
WR Arlic Arnett, SR - 85
TE Tyler Urban, SO - 82
LT Don Barclay, SO - 79
LG Greg Islander, SR - 95
          C Eric Jobe, JR - 79
RG Josh Jenkins, SO - 79
RT Jon Walko, SR - 77

          DEFENSIVE OVERVIEW
For some reason Reed Williams returns (I think this may be due to the fact that I am using modified rosters and the maker may have made him a junior so he'd be available this year since he's medical redshirting in real life). He'll make an impact, so it's good for him to be back. He, JT Thomas, and Archie Sims will anchor an impressive linebacking corps. Up on the line, Scooter Berry looks to make huge strides towards greatness this year. The secondary isn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not bad either and should be better than last year's debacle.
          Starters:
DE Scooter Berry, JR - 90
DE Zac Cooper, SR - 83
DT Chris Neild, JR - 84
LB JT Thomas, JR - 81
LB Reed Williams, SR - 95
LB Archie Sims, SR - 87
CB Brandon Hogan, JR - 85
CB Kent Richardson, SR - 83
FS Robert Sands, SO - 83
SS Nate Sowers, SR - 84
SS Sidney Glover, JR - 83

          SPECIAL TEAMS OVERVIEW
Senior Scott Kozlowski will handle both kicking and punting duties for the Mountaineers this season after losing his punting job as a freshman in 2006 to Pat McAfee. He will also handle kickoffs. Noel Devine and Jock Sanders will return kickoffs and Sanders will also return punts for the Mountaineers.
          Starters:
          K Scott Kozlowski, SR - 75
          P Scott Kozloski, SR - 77
KR Noel Devine, JR - 99
KR Jock Sanders, JR - 99
PR Jock Sander, JR - 99
KOS Scott Kozlowski, SR - 75
LS Greg Islander, SR - 82

You certainly looked stacked on defense, good luck this year.

The defense is definitely shaping up to be good. We'll see if they perform, but as of now, they look good. Thanks!

Well, I already set next year's schedule, so that's an impossibility, but I'll try to remember to add them in 2010!

                      West Virginia Blows Out Marshall
Mountaineers now 4-0 all-time in Friends of Coal Bowl

Morgantown, WV (AP) - The West Virginia Mountaineers (0-0, 0-0 Big East) didn't have much trouble with the Marshall Thundering Herd (0-0, 0-0 C-USA) today as the Mountaineers jumped out to a huge 34-13 halftime lead en route to a 51-20 blowout of the Herd.

With Pat White having graduated, the Mountaineers didn't miss a beat as Jarrett Brown played very well in White's absence, completing 61% of his passes for 149 yards, two touchdowns, and one pick. "Jarrett's skill set is a bit different that Pat's," explained offensive coordinator/quarerbacks coach Jeff Mullen. "Jarrett has some speed, but not the startling speed like Pat, but Jarrett has a stronger and more accurate arm and can make some NFL-quality throws to help get us down the field."

Noel Devine rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown, but a surprise was how well redshirt-freshman Terence Kerns played. Kerns is a big fellow, weighing in at 230 pounds, and played huge for the Mountaineers today as he broke several tackle attempts on the way to 103 rushing yards on just 12 carries.

West Virginia hosts Virginia Tech next week in the Battle for the Black Diamond Trophy and a rematch of last year's Meineke Car Care Bowl. The two schools finally came to an agreement to play a home-and-home series for the foreseeable future, something fans of both the Hokies and Mountaineers were glad to hear.

                        Brownless Mountaineers Knock Off Hokies
Jarrett Brown knocked out, but Scott Kozlowski's game-winning 47 yard field goal gives West Virginia the win

Morgantown, WV (AP) - Welcome to the team, Scott Kozlowski. The senior, in his first year as West Virginia's place kicker, stepped up big for the #25 West Virginia Mountaineers (1-0, 0-0 Big East) as he drilled a 47 yard field goal with time expiring to seal a 27-24 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies (0-0, 0-0 ACC).

West Virginia had a 17-7 lead early in the fourth quarter and, having just picked off a Tyrod Tailor pass, sat on the one yard line ready to make it 24-7. However, Jarrett Brown had been knocked out of the game in the first half and Coley White, Pat White's younger brother, was in at quarterback. However, White threw his third interception of the day and Virginia Tech marched down the field to get within a field goal. Eventually, the game found itself in a 24-24 deadlock until Kozlowski worked his magic.

Coley White was taken out after the play and was replaced by junior college transfer John Davis, a junior. Davis, a pocket passer, came in and completed 10 of 11 passes for 80 yards to help seal the deal for the Mountainners.

"[Coley White] is a good quarterback," explained West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart. "But when you throw a redshirt freshman in there at quarterback against your bitter rivals in his second career game, you expect these sorts of things to happen.

"The main thing is that we won. We nearly blew this one, but we didn't and I'm glad to take home the 'W'."

Wow, Coley really struggled but good to see you topped the Hokies.

Yeah, once he threw his first interception, the flood gates opened and I finally pulled him after he nearly cost us the game. I've still not given up hope on him, though. He just had a bad game.

What's his accuracy and throw power?
