Just to let you all know...
...a LARGE number of updates will come early in the week. Once again I am short on internet usage as my port at college was temporarily disable but should be turned back on tomorrow. A hint... I am already to the part of signing my draft picks. So... once my internet is back, there will be some more updates. I apologize for this being so slow recently.Comment

DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS: Saints (10-6) at San Francisco (14-2)
The 49ers were at home hoping to begin their road to another Super Bowl victory. First, they would have to go through the Saints.
1st Quarter
On the opening drive, New Orleans' Aaron Brooks was 6/6 passing but the Saints had to settle for a field goal to take an early 3-0 edge. For most of the quarter the 49ers offense couldn't get down the field. Finally, late in the first quarter, Jeff Garcia found rookie TE Kendall Johnson from the 8 yard line to give SF a 7-3 lead.
2nd Quarter
After forcing the Saints to punt, Jimmy Williams fumbled the ball at San Francisco's 30. This resulted in John Carney nailing his second field goal to make it a 1-point lead for the Niners. Just before the half, San Francisco made it down to the 14 yard line, but Jeff Chandler hooked a 31-yard field goal try and it remained 7-6 at the half.
3rd Quarter
Early on, Chandler redeemed himself with a 32-yarder to make the score 10-6. After forcing New Orleans to punt once again, Garcia quickly turned the ball over with an interception at the 49ers 31 yard line. Mike Rumph temporarily saved the day with an interception at the SF 21 a few plays later to stop the threat of a New Orleans score.
4th Quarter
This quarter was all defense. With two minutes left, however, Aaron Brooks and the Saints took control knowing their mission. Brooks led a brilliant drive down the field and with just 38 seconds left in the game hit Dante Stallworth for a 14-yard score, giving the Saints a 13-10 advantage. 38 seconds proved to be too few for the 49ers as they fell, much to the amazement of the fans on hand for what ended up being the final game at Candlestick.
FINAL: Saints upset SF 13-10 in San Francisco!
Key Performances
QB Jeff Garcia - 83.1, 15/27, 245 yards, TD, INT
RB Kevan Barlow - 13 att, 81 yards
TE Kendall Johnson - 6 rec, 56 yards, TD
Straight From the Coach
"That was a tough loss to take at home in the playoffs. These guys played their hearts out but the fact of the matter is that our offense just couldn't consistently move the ball. There is no blame on these guys though. New Orleans played a heck of a ballgame now we have to evaluate ourselves in the offseason and try to get back to the big game next year."Comment
