SEAHAWKS STAY PERFECT DESPITE OFFENSIVE MISCUES

The defense of Seattle was what kept them in the game. They picked off Kyle Orton twice in the game. Randall Hayes snatched his second pass of the game and ran it back to give the offense a 1st and goal from the 10-yard line. Lynch took the first handoff and scored on their very next play to make it a 7-0 game. After forcing a punt, Seattle got the ball back. Claybrooks threw his first interception of the game as Patrick Robinson grabbed it. If it wasn’t for a holding call, it would have been a pick-6. The Saints got a field goal out of it though. Seattle and New Orleans exchanged punts, then Seattle’s Wallace ran it in for a 21-yard score to go up 14-3 after the first.

The second quarter was all Saints as Truman busted off a big 79-yard run down the left sideline. Then on the next possession, Seattle full back Willie Wofford got a first down, but coughed up the ball on the 8-yard line. Mainter picked it up and ran it back for the 95-yard fumble recovery touchdown to give New Orleans their first lead 17-14. Seattle missed two field goals with under 2:00 to go in the half to be down 17-14.

Seattle’s defense clamped down, giving up 0 points in the second half, as their offense finally started to heat up.

Lynch scored on a 3-yard run about half way to through the third, and Nichols added in a 33-yard field goal on the next possess to go up 24-14.

In the fourth, Claybrooks finally put together a lot of good drives as Gronkowski was left open down the seam for a 47-yard score. Claybrooks then found Eugene Alvarado in corner of the end zone for a little 4-yard score to put the game out of reach with 2:02 left in the game.

The offensive game ball went to Gronkowski for 7 catches, for 208 yards and 1 TD

The defensive game ball went to Marcus Mitchell for 4 tackles and game sealing interception

“We will head into the bye week, practice hard and try to learn from our mistakes” spoke Carroll “we are talented, but so is every other team in the league”

CLAYBROOKS SCORES 5 TOUCHDOWNS IN 70-14 ROUTE OF PATRIOTS

Seattle came into the game much more prepared unlike the previous week versus the Saints. Claybrooks was firing on all cylinders, connecting with 8 different receiver on the day. The defense gave up an early touchdown as Nelson caught a 2-yard pass from Kolb for an early 7-0 lead. It didn’t last long as Wallace caught a 4-yard pad on the Seahawks first drive. Then the Patriots corner bit on play action, and let Daryl Clay go vertical for the easiest 61-yard toss and catch score he’s had as a pro. Seahawks led 14-6 after the first.

The second quarter was all Seattle as they put up 3 touchdowns: Wallace with a 1-yard run, Gronkowski with a 25-yard reception and then finally Lynch got a 1-yard run to take a commanding 35-7 led into half as the Seattle defense stepped up their game.

The third quarter was a push. John Kuhn got a little 3-yard running score for New England. Claybrooks called his own number and got a 1-yard sneak with 5:40 to go in the quarter.

Seattle tacked on another 28 points in the final quarter to add salt in an open wound. Lynch got a trio of short yardage running scores of 1, 2, and 4 yards. Rob Gronkowski caught the final score from 13-yards on a post route to complete the thrashing.

Claybrooks earned the offensive game ball by going 33/42 for 492 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT, and 1 rushing TD

Marcus Mitchell got the defensive game ball for 3 INT of Kerry Kolb

DARYL CLAY HAS BIG DAY TO LIFT SEAHAWKS OVER RIVAL 49ERS

The day started off horrible for Claybrooks, as the second pass he threw was intercepted by Chris Owens. The Seattle defense stepped up and forced a punt. Seattle got on the scoreboard first as Claybrooks found Gronkowski for the 4-yard score. The first quarter ended Seattle ahead 7-0.

The 49ers defense bad offense stepped up in the second quarter. Their defense picked off Claybrooks thrice in the quarter, all three interceptions leading to points. Jay Feely got a field goal off the first pick. Allen caught a 3-yard pass from Alford, but the extra point was missed. Then Nate Allen grabbed a bobbled screen pass to Lynch and ran it back for the 16-yard pick-6. Daryl Clay gave Seattle a boost by beating his man for a 53-yard score with 5:07 left in the half. Nichols added a field goal as the clock hit 0:00 to take a slim 16-15 lead into the locker room.

The third quarter was very ho-hum for both teams. Jake George extended the Seahawks lead 23-15 after he caught an 8-yard curl route just past the goal line. San Francisco tied it at after Erickson ran it from the 1-yard and got the 2-pt conversion as well. Clay was the hero as the third drew to a close after catching a 68-yard strike after he got the step on the defender.

Seattle led 20-23 going into the final quarter, as their offense stalled drive after drive. Seattle gave up a field goal with 3:28 left, holding onto a 30-26 lead. Seattle got the ball and ran it twice, for minimal gains. It was third and long, as Claybrooks scrambled to his right. Clay improvised and streaked down the field, as Claybrooks kept his eye up the whole time. He let the ball fly, and there wasn’t a defender within 5-yards for the game clinching 80-yard score.

Daryl Clay got the offensive game ball for his 5 receptions, 227 yards and 3 TDs

Tremain Forbes got the defensive game ball for his 11 tackles (4 for loss), and 1 sack

“A win is a win, regardless of how pretty it was. The defense stepped up the past couple games, ensuring the victory in big moment plays like they’ve been doing all year” Coach Carroll

SEAHAWKS WIN 34-16 OVER RAMS IN NFC WEST SHOWDOWN

Seattle’s offense was mediocre in the first quarter as Ray Claybrooks threw a pair of interceptions, on his first two drives. If it wasn’t for the defense stepping up, the game could’ve gotten out of hand early. Vernon Kelley of the Rams ripped off a 30-yard touchdown run after the second interception to give the Rams an early 7-3 lead. Seattle couldn’t get on the board until the second quarter when Andrew Buckley blitzed from the safety position and tackled Kelly in the end zone for a safety, cutting the lead to 7-5.

The Rams added a field goal at 3:34 in the second, to go up 10-5. Seattle responded as Calvin Wallace went up the gut and weaved his way in the 10-yard rushing score. He couldn’t put the 2-pt try in, giving Seattle a slim 11-10 lead. Seattle forced the Rams to punt, leaving :12 on the board. Seattle knew they were getting the ball back, so Carroll dialed up a play. Alvarado double moved his defender and got vertical. Claybrooks found him and threw a perfect ball on the over the outstretched defenders arms as Alvarado took it 65-yards for the score. Seattle led 18-10 at the half.

The Rams got on the board first in the second half via a field goal, but Seattle answered in a big way. Wallace took a little swing pass, broke an open field tackle and raced down the eight sideline for the back breaking 74-yard score. The Rams added another field goal before the end of the quarter, but Seattle led 25-16.

Seattle added a trio of field goals in the final quarter while their defense shut down the Rams offense to make the final 34-16.

Calvin Wallace got the offensive game ball for his 74 yards rushing, 1 rushing TD, 84 yards receiving and 1 receiving TD.

Andrew Buckley got the defensive game ball for his 5 tackles and 1 safety to help turn the tide of the game.

Next up, the 5-3 Dolphins come to Seattle on Sunday November 6th for Sunday Night Football.

RUN GAME PROPELS SEAHAWKS VICTORY OVER DOLPHINS

Ray Claybrooks is human, and it showed on Sunday Night Football. The Miami Dolphins came in, looking to shut down the high powered aerial assault of the Seahawks and they did just that. Even though Claybrooks completed 76% of his passes, he threw 0 touchdowns and 1 interception.

It was the running game and defense that got Seattle the victory. Seattle had 145 total yards of rushing, as Lynch got a pair of short yardage touchdowns in the game, and Calvin Wallace got a short one as well.

“They played us well on the backend, shutting down passing lanes” spoke Carroll “I felt we adjusted well and ran the ball effectively. Claybrooks made timely throws into tight windows, the Dolphins just textbook tackled us to prevent the big plays we are accustomed to. Next week we face Arizona at home again, it will be a new game and new challenges”

The offensive game ball went to Marshawn Lynch for his 2 touchdowns on the game.

The defensive game ball went to Damon Abdullah for his 5 tackles and 2 sacks.

SEATTLE HAS COMPLETE GAME TO SHUT OUT CARDINALS 62-0

Seattle’s offense and defense got going early. On Arizona’s first possession of the game, Andrew Buckley blitzed, causing Dre Martin to cough up the football, as he also recovered it. Three plays later, Rob Gronkowski scored on a 10-yard post route. Seattle then forced 3-and-out on the next two possessions by Arizona. Their offense turned all these into points via a touchdown then a field goal. Wallace scored on the 4-yard touchdown run before Nichols connected on the 30-yard field goal.

The second quarter saw Seattle put up 21 points. Lynch scored on a 1-yard run, before Wolford got his own 1-yard score. Lynch scored on a 14-yard pass as he ran across the formation to reach the goal line before he got smacked out of bounds.

The third quarter, Seattle put up 10 more points as as Nichols kicked a 24-yard field goal, then 4 minutes later Lynch got his second touchdown run from 1-yard out.

The final quarter Seattle hung another pair of touchdowns on Arizona. Wallace got a 1-yard run before Boyd caught a 2-yard score to make it a total demolishing.

Marshawn Lynch got the offensive game ball for 99 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 24 receiving yards and 1 reception touchdown.

Mike Patterson got the defensive game ball for his 5 tackles (4 for loss) and 2 sacks

CLAYBROOKS ON CRUISE CONTROL AS SEAHAWKS CRUSH 49ERS 75-14 AT QWEST FIELD

It looked as if Ray Claybrooks was playing Madden the console game on the field versus the 49ers. He tossed a total of 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on the day. He connected with Eugene Alvarado thrice, with the longest being an 83-yard bomb. He connected with Rob Gronkowski twice, Jake George/Calvin Wallace/Daryl Clay once each.

Eugene Alvarado exploited the San Francisco defense to the tune of 6 catches on 10 targets for 266 yards and 3 scores.

Eugene Alvarado making back shoulder catch to haul in second TD of the day

The Seattle defense wasn’t to be outdone, as they registered 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions.

Coach Carroll tried to give the game ball to Ray Claybrooks for his 688 yard passing but Claybrooks gave it to Alvarado for his own insane night.

The defensive game ball went to Tremiain Forbes for his 4 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble

EAGLES HAND SEATTLE FIRST LOSS AS CLAYBROOKS PICKED OFF TWICE

This game was close for the first half, as both teams struggled offensively. Seattle got. Touchdown early in the first quarter as Claybrooks found Gronkowski. Before the end of the first quarter, Flacco found Calvin Johnson for the score. Eagles kicker missed the extra point.

The second quarter was just as uneventful as Flacco found Johnson again to take a 1 point led into halftime as Seattle mismanaged the clock and could get a field goal off before the whistle. Seattle trailed 13-7.

Seattle’s offensive woes continued as they drove to within field goal range, but Claybrooks failed to see the linebacker in the flat wiring for the pass intended for Gronkowski. Ben Lott grabbed it out of the air and ran it back the 90-yards for the pick-6. The game was never the same for the Seahawks. Langer for Philadelphia would score on a 4-yard run. The Philadelphia defense got in on the scoring as they strip-sacked Claybrooks as Jones fell in the ball for the fumble recovery touchdown. Settle trailed 34-7.

Philadelphia put up 9 more points in the final quarter as Walker tackles Marshawn Lynch in the end zone for a safety and ended the game when Langer got another 1-yard touchdown run. Eugene Alvarado scored for the Hawks from 7-yards, but there was no chance for. Comeback with 7:05 to go and down by over 21 points.

“We will learn from the tape, from the positions we were put in. Tomorrow is a new day and a new week for us” — Pete Carroll

BUCCANEERS STILL WINLESS AS SEATTLE OFFENSE EXPLODES FOR 52

Pete Carroll was right when he said “a new day and new week”. The Seattle offense was not stymied like last week versus Philadelphia. Marshawn Lynch was the workhorse of the day, by toting the rock 25 times to the tune of 123 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Seattle got on the board first as Claybrooks tossed a a 17-yard score to Gronkowski in the corner of the end zone. Tampa responded with their own score as Rogers found Sawyer for a 35-yard score on a 3rd-and-18 to tie the game.

Seattle was the only team that scored in the second quarter as Daryl Clay juked his way into the end zone after he caught a curl route and put Seattle ahead 14-7 going into the locker room. Seattle’s kicker Nichols left 6 points on the field as he missed a pair of field goals from 33-yards and 22-yards.

Seattle put up 10 points in the third as Nichols kicked a field goal, and then with :34 left in the quarter Calvin Wallace took the ball of the right sideline out the flat for the 22-yard score from Claybrooks. The only blemish was Seattle giving up a safety as Anderson sacked Claybrooks in the end zone at 5:09 to make it a 24-9 game.

Seattle exploded in the final quarter for 28 points, while the defense shut out Tamara to cruise to the bounce-back win.

Mitchell got the scoring started by taking back an interception 50-yards for the pick-6. Wolford got a 1-yard run, before Lunch got a pair of short yardage touchdowns at the :41 and :02 mark of the game to put an emphatic “!” To the game.

Marshawn Lynch was given the offensive game ball for his 123 rushing yards.

Marcus Mitchell was given the defensive game ball for his 4 tackles and 1 interception (for a touchdown)

“That’s the way I know I am capable of playing” Ray Claybrooks stated “I kept the mental mistakes to a bare minimum and our defense was stingy all game. This is the formula for success”

SEATTLE IMPROVES TO 12-1 AFTER 46-6 VICTORY OVER PACKERS ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Seattle and Green Bay started out slow. Both teams got a touchdown in the first quarter, and both kickers shanked the extra point. Cribs caught a 36-yard score for the Packers and Lynch caught a 5-yard pass from Claybrooks on Seattle’s third drive.

The second quarter is when Seattle started to put the pedal to the metal, as they scored 10. Nichols kicked a field goal then Daryl Clay caught a 11-yard pass before the half to go up 16-6.

Seattle scored 14 in the third, to make the game essentially over by the fourth quarter. Daryl Clay caught his second touchdown from 27-yards and Boyd caught one from 3-yards to make it a 30-6 game as Seattle’s defense locked down the Packers offensively.

Seattle put up 16-points in the final quarter. Wallace got an 8-yard run at 10:27, followed up with a Nichols field goal at 6:26 and finally Wolford caught a 14- yard pass at 4:30 to finish out the scoring.

Claybrooks got the offensive game ball for going 23/24 for 225 yards, 5 TD and 2 INT.

Lamar Sparks got the defensive game ball for his 3 tackles and 2 sacks on the day.

“We have a chance to clinch the NFC West title next week, so we are getting ready for that game versus the defending Super Bowl champion Jets. We know each other really well at this point, so it should be a great game to watch” — Coach Carroll

SEATTLE CLINCHES PLAYOFF BERTH BUT NOT NFC WEST TITLE WITH LOSS TO JETS

Seattle and New York knew each other quite well, as this was the third time they’ve played each other in the past 4 seasons.

This game was a nightmare as Seattle’s high potent offense was faced off versus the overall #4 defense in the league.

Claybrooks threw a pair of interceptions on the day. Fourth year pro, Garrett Fraser didn’t help the cause much as his fumble was recovered by Drew Harlan.

Seattle and New York both put up 14 points in the first quarter. Marques Colston caught a 19-yard pass from Sanchez to open the scoring as Swanno missed the extra point. Eugene Alvarado then got behind the defense and scored on a 74-yard bomb from Claybrooks. Lynch tacked on a 1-yard score at the 4:23 mark. Gainer caught a 3-yard score towards the end of the quarter to tie the game at 14-14 off the previously mentioned Fraser turnover.

The second quarter saw a lone touchdown as Joey Vasquez strip-sacked Claybrooks and Harlan picked it up and ran it back the 74-yards for the fumble recovery score.

Seattle was down 21-14 at the half. Seattle got the ball back to start the second half, and both teams exchanged punts. At 8:12, Lynch was wrapped up in the end zone for a safety by Vasquez after a great Huber punt.

Seattle stormed back in the final frame to tie up the game. Nichols kicked a field goal with 10:29 to go. The Seattle defense kept the Jets off the scoreboard, and with a final drive Alvarado caught the game tying 9-yard score. Nichols botched the extra point with :49 to go sending it to overtime.

Seattle and New York could get anything going at first, until New York was able to move the ball within field goal range as Swanno buried a 39-yard field goal to give them the victory.

“It was a tough loss, but it was fun to watch I bet. We can clinch the NFC West next week by beating the Cardinals in Arizona, so we will focus on that” Coach Carroll

SEATTLE DEFENSE SHUTS OUT CARDINALS TO CLINCH NFC WEST TITLE

Seattle’s defense and offense both showed up for the game. Ray Claybrooks got a pair of rushing touchdowns to start off the game at 8:26 and 4:15 respectively. Nichols then kicked a field goal at :22 to give Seattle a 16-0 lead.

Calvin Wallace got in on the scoring as he rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to extend their lead to 30-0. Calvin rushed down the right sideline for a 14-yard score before he went straight up the gut at 4:49 for the 1-yard plunge.

After the half, it was much the same. Seattle got a pair of field goals in the third to make it a 36-0 game before Randall Hayes put an exclamation point at the end of the game by picking off Eli Manning and returning it 73-yards for the pick-6 to end the route at 46-0.

“It was a great bounce back effort by the team. We executed from start to finish as the scoreboard shows. Next week, it’s the regular season finale as we host the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.” Coach Carroll

SEATTLE SUFFERS SECOND OVERTIME LOSS IN 3 WEEKS TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON

Seattle and Atlanta was thrilled, and a great way to end the Monday Night Football schedule if your a football fan. It was a sour note as a Seahawks fan however. Turnovers feted their ugly head, as Seattle committed 3 of them on the day.

Atlanta started out by scoring 24 unanswered points on the Seahawks. Roddy White caught a 3-yard touchdown, followed by Brandon Marshall from 13-yard, followed by a booming 55-yard field goal by Nelson to round out the first quarter. Beck caught a 78-yard score a he got behind Mitchell. It wasn’t until 6:58 in the second quarter that Seattle got a little field goal to be down 24-3 going into the locker at the half.

Pete Carroll has always been known as an optimist and a “glass-half-full” kinda guy. Whatever he said in the locker room, fired up his guys on both sides of the ball.

Seattle came out in the third quarter and lit up the Atlanta defense for 21 straight points. Daryl Clay caught a 30-yard score, followed up as Blake caught a 1-yard flat pass and Fraser finished off the scoring onslaught with an 8-yard catch for a score. The only downside was the Seattle offensive line gave up a safety with :10 in the third to give Atlanta a slim 26-24 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Blake caught his second touchdown to give Seattle a 30-26 lead with 10:01 to go in the game. Seattle defense would bend, but eventually Atlanta would persevere as Bailey caught a 45-yard score from Norman with 2:12 to in the game, Atlanta up 33-30.

Claybrooks would March down the field, and on 3rd and 20 after getting sacked would complete a pass to Fraser bringing them to the 2-yard line with :04 to go. Nichols would send the game to overtime.

Seattle and Atlanta couldn’t get any traction on offense, but Atlant’s defense stepped up. They picked off Claybrooks twice. The first field goal attempt off the pick was shanked right, but the second was good.

“We have a week off, and we will rest up. We got a first round bye, by beating Carolina early on in the season. We will be focused and ready like every postseason” Coach Carroll

“It was my fault we lost, nobody else. Two badly thrown balls, and teams make you pay for that kinda thing” Ray Claybrooks
