Huge 2nd half to win "The Game" and FIU made quick work of the Knights.

Injuries are going to be the only thing that could derail a potential natty rematch between the two. I forget what my slider is set at, but I usually get more of the wear and tear injuries where they miss the rest of the game and have only gotten a handful of longer than a game injuries, and usually those all come in week 14

I am either using Armor&Sword settings or Matt's. I forget which.

When i started this Dynasty I didn't want injuries to play a factor for the 2024 season cause I was trying to force wins so the playoffs and records would reflect who made the playoffs IRL, so turned injuries off.

I could figure out why I had no injuries in 2025 and then realized that it was still turned off. Typically I get 4-5 in a season but this is unreal. And it's not just the amount of them but also how long. Tandy's injury from last season carried over to the point od him missing the entire year. Now I got my DE who goes down and is suppose to miss 22 weeks which means his will carry over as well

My Injuries are set at 55 and my Fatigued at 75, with Wear and Tear On, I feel with no formation subs in the game I needed it or I felt like my #2 RB would never see the ball. I however have found a couple run plays in the I Formation that use whoever is listed as the Powerback as the main RB option so typically that's my #3 guy who is my big guy like Tam for OSU and Trinidad for FIU and it allows me to put a different RB as the #2 that will spell the starter like every 3rd or 4th carry if I am running the ball on back to back plays.

SEVERAL SCHOOLS TARGETING BOTH MILLER AND DEES

We are just a day away from Championship Week and Schools looking for a new HC are circling both Ohio State and FIU...

Coach Matt Miller has came out on multiple podcasts claiming the only schools that could potentially pull him away from OSU is a school with deep pockets and most likely located in the SEC.

Well rumors are 2 of 3 rumored schools match those descriptions. Word is LSU, Texas and USC are all coming hard after the National Championship winning coach.

The Tigers are getting ready to play their own Championship game vs Georgia but rumors are their HC is getting ready to make the jump to the NFL..

Texas on the other hand has struggled since moving to the SEC and reports are both the Longhorns and Oklahoma are rumored to be potentially make a return to the Big 12 in 2035.

Speaking of Oklahoma, reports are they Sooners have requested a interview with Ohio State OC Nate Phoenix.. The Buckeyes Offense currently leads the country in scoring..

USC has already made a run at Miller in the past, and reports are they they are prepared to make a run at FIU OC Clayton Dees despite the former FIU Panther having just 2 years as a OC under his belt. USC isn't the only school looking to make a run at the young offensive mastermind.. Charlotte made a run at Dees last year and it sounds like they are at it again. Reports are Kentucky has also called former HC Barry Valdez and asked permission to speak to Dees as well..

              GAME RECAP

Ohio State has won back to back Big Ten Titles under Coach Miller as OSU dominates the 2nd half behind the play of their backup QB.

Just like the Michigan Game, starting QB Dave Ledford would struggle throwing 3 INT's in the 1st half..

Ohio State jumped out to a early 10-0 lead but the Corn Huskers battled back scoring 10 points off the 3 turnovers to tie the game (10-10) as we go to the half.

Just like Michigan, Coach Miller would make a change under center, only this time it was Redshirt Freshman Abdul Diabate coming in as relief and Diabate would shine completing 8/10 pass's for 129 yds well throwing 3 TD's to lead the Buckeyes to victory..

The Buckeye Defense was a huge factor today. Even though they only generated 1 turnover, they held Nebraska to just 2/10 on 3rd conversions forcing 7 punts on the day and late in the 4th, they came up with a huge sack that set up a 4th and 17 in which the Cornhuskers turned the ball over on downs after failing to pick up the 1st down.

SR QB Alonzo Momah (81) finished the game 20/30 (66%) for 202 yds with the 2 TD and 1 INT.

              KEY BUCKS

              QB D. Ledford 10/20 (50%) 133 yds 3 INT

                GAME RECAP

All week Miami talked a big game but when the time came it was the FIU Defense who let their play do the talking. The Panther Defense knocked Hurricane SR QB Legend Coffee (85) out of the game in the opening series (He was 2/3 for 19 yds) leaving backup SR Alex Cutrera (81) to finish it. (Was hoping former Panther Lefty McCrae was the #2 but he is sadly #3)

The Panther Pass rush introduced themselves early to Cutrera sacking the QB 4 times in the 1st half and 3 more in the 2nd to finish with 7 sacks on the day.

Well Miami's QB were hurting or struggling, FIU Kevin Pounds was doing neither.. The Redshirt Sophomore's name has been on a downward spiral of late in the Heisman talks and the discussion for the National POY, but Pounds showed every watching tonight that he was still the guy who was a Pre-Season favorite to win both awards..

Pounds would throw (3) 1st half TD's to give FIU the (21-0) lead going into the locker room and he never let up in the 2nd half throwing 2 more well also running in a touchdown with 26 seconds to play finishing the game with 6 TD's on the day well throwing for a season high 554 yds..

Well Miami couldn't contain Pounds or stop the Panthers passing attack they did a pretty good job of holding SR Taylor Coxie to 48 yds on 17 carries but Coxie had 1 carry they failed on as he takes it 80 yds to the house giving his daily avg quite the boost (18 carries 118 yds 6.5 avg).. Fellow RB Tim Trinidad also added a late 4th Quarter score as FIU blows out the Hurricanes to break a 2 year drought in the ACC title matchup to win their 3rd title in the past 5 years.

Miami would score 2 late 4th Quarter touchdowns getting 1 from JR RB Roy Flowers (95 Ovr) who finished with 14 carries for 50 yds.

Alex Cutrera actually played decent in relief of Coffee at least on paper completing 15/21 (71%) for 195 yds and 1 TD but being sacked 5 times didn't help keep drives alive as Miami punted 9 times in the game..

                Coach Valdez
"It was nice to break the losing streak.. We came into the year with 1 record on the white board.. (16-0).. That's our goal. FIU went (15-2) in 20227 winning their first Natty and (15-1) in 2029 winning #2 and (14-2) in both 2028 and and 2030, but the school has never had a perfect season.. That's our goal and it's ends with Natty #3, so this is just 1 more huge step in that direction"
                KEY PANTHERS

                QB K. Pounds 26/41 (63%) 554 yds 5 TD 1 INT, 5 carries 21 yds 1 TD

                  CHAMPION WEEK

Well #1 Ohio state cruised the Big Ten Championship and #2 FIU dominated in the ACC title game, the same can not be said for the rest of top ranked teams in the rest of the Championship Matchups.

#3 Georgia fell to #7 LSU (17-10) in the SEC Championship.. With the loss the Bulldogs drop to #4 in the rankings well LSU jumps up to #3 claiming a Top-4 seed and 1st Round Bye.

#4 Purdue was upset by #24 Buffalo as the Bull's Defense shuts down Trey Silvestro pitching a shutout and winning the game (6-0) and the American Conference title. The Boilermakers drop to #8 in the rankings with the loss.

Defense continued to prevail as #17 Boise State defeats #11 Colorado (20-13) in the Pac-12 Championship. With the loss the Buff's drop to #12 well Boise State moves to #15 (Not sure how you beat a team yet are still ranked worse then them)

#16 K-State bought a house next door to Purdue in Upset City as they fall (17-14) to #22 BYU.. Yet despite the loss K-State stays at #16 and BYU only moves up 2 spots to #20.

#15 Marshall was ranked higher then #21 Kentucky going into the game but many sports bettors picked the Wildcats to win.. Those that did lost money as the Thundering Herd pulls of the victory (38-21).. With the win Marshall moves to #11 in the rankings well Kentucky drops to #25.

                  **Other games of note**

UTSA beat Wyoming (24-20) to win the Mountain West Championship

Jacksonville State beat Troy (27-10) to win the Sun Belt Championship

Western Michigan beat Miami OH (32-31) to win the MAC Championship

                    AND 12 WERE CHOSEN

Championship Week once again played havoc on the final Top-25 rankings of the season and also added a extra layer or 2 of drama with the Selection Committee.

The Big winner after Championship Week ended had to be #17 Boise State who defeated #11 Colorado to win the Pac-12 title yet for some reason the ranking system only dropped the Buff's to #12 well Boise State only rose to #15 but when it was time to make their selections the Committee rewarded the Broncos with the #12 seed..

With Georgia's loss in the SEC Championship, but the Bulldogs went from having the #3 seed to the #5 as they highest rated team that didn't win their conference and with that we have our first matchup set..

#12 Boise State at #5 Georgia.

Most assumed when #1 Ohio State beat Nebraska in the Big Ten Championship that the Buckeyes would secure the #1 seed, but the ranking system and the Committee disagree after #2 FIU defeats #6 Miami in the ACC Championship to finish as the only undefeated team in the country (13-0). FIU leapfrogs their former coach to snap the #1 ranking and the #1 seed as OSU drops to #2 securing the #2 seed.

With LSU's win over Georgia in the SEC Championship, the Tigers made a huge jump going form #7 to #3 and with it secured the #3 seed..

With #4 Purdue's loss to Buffalo in the American Conference Championship, that left 1 Top-4 seed left and CUSA Champ #11 Marshall claims the prize as the they finish higher in the rankings then Big 12 Champ #20 BYU.. With Purdue's loss they dropped to #8 in the rankings but the selection decided to double down on the punishment of losing by giving them the #9 seed as they will have to travel in Round 1.

So with 7 spots already taken up, the committee moved to the final rankings for the last 5 spots.

Several year's ago it was stated that sometimes not playing in your conference Championship was a good thing and that was the case for 3 teams this year..

#5 Clemson was given the #6 seed, #8 Virginia Tech was given the #7 Seed and #7 TCU was giving the #8 seed as all 3 teams get a chance to host their 1st Round matchup.

#9 Oregon secures the #10 seed and ACC Runner-up #10 Miami secures the last spot in the playoffs as the #11 seed.

Which means #12 (11-2) Colorado, #13 (9-3) Washington, #14 (9-3) Oklahoma all miss the bubble after solid years.

                    Coach Miller
"It's a Weird year.. Typically in the past it's always been lose 2 or less and your odds are good.. As soon as you lose #3 your on the bubble and if you lose 4, you can pretty much know you are out. Boise State showed this week it's also important when you win and Colorado showed how much damage a late loss is.. Overall I think the Committee probably got it right. I think FIU got lucky jumping us for #1 cause I feel like that side of the bracket is a easier road to travel.. It will be interesting to see what happens between the Ducks and Hokies.. We didn't play Oregon this year and their loss to Penn State knocked them out of the Big Ten Championship matchup. But V.T. is no push over.. They are the 2031 National Champs and they still have alot of kids on that roster who would love to win another one."
Here is a look at the full Bracket.

                    #12 (10-3) Boise State @ #5 (11-2) Georgia.. Winner takes on #4 (11-2) Marshall

                    #9 (10-3) Purdue @ #8 (9-3) TCU... Winner takes on #1 (13-0) FIU

                    #11 (10-3) Miami @ #6 (9-3) Clemson.. Winner takes on #3 (11-2) LSU

                    #10 (9-3) Oregon @ #7 (9-3) Virginia Tech.. Winner takes on #2 (12-1) Ohio State.

So not sure what's going on but my thread is not updating.. I can't see any comments and posts I have created are not showing up.. I am waiting to see if it catches up.. I have played my 2nd Round games.. Everytime I post, it says their is a Data Base Error.. It gives me the option the hit the back button and reload, then says I have created a duplicated post. I created a new account to see if it would fix it but so far it seems like it's still having issues.

Its still being weird. On the main page i can see you posted recently, but when I open the thread the FIU vs Miami game is the last post. But then when I go to reply to the thread i can scroll down and see the newer posts, so not sure what's up. Mine was doing that yesterday but seems to have caught up....it has got to be a site issue. wonder if the rest of the site is having a problem as well or just the football dynasty forum

                                #5 Georgia-28 #12 Boise State-24

BSU trailed (14-7) at the half, but rallied to take the lead in the 4th only to watch the Bulldogs score a late 4th Quarter touchdown to advance.

Georgia will now face #4 Marshall in the Fiesta Bowl and well the didn't win a Top-4 seed, many experts are claiming Georgia as the favorite to advance.

                                #8 TCU-27 #9 Purdue-24

The Horn Frogs led (17-13) at the half but the Boilermakers cut it to (17-16) in the 3rd.. TCU extended the lead to (24-16) in the 4th, but Purdue battled back scoring a touchdown and converting the 2pt play to tie the game (24-24) before TCU kicks a 4th Quarter FG to win the game.

TCU will advance for the chance to knock off #1 FIU in Round 2 in the Peach Bowl.

                                #11 Miam-28 #6 Clemson-11

The Hurricanes led this one from start to finish.. QB Legend Coffee was 25/32 (78%) for 238 yds with 3 TD through the air and he led the Canes on the ground with 7 carries for 81 yds and 1 TD.

The Hurricanes advance to face #3 LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

                                #7 Virginia Tech-37 #10 Oregon-17

Like Miami, the Hokies led this one from start to finish as the V.T. Defense comes up big holding the Ducks to just 3 points in the 1st half.

Former FIU Panther, Derek Hawkins was 21/34 (61%) throwing for 349 yds with 3 TD and 1 INT

Hawkins will now get a chance to face his former coach, as the Hokies advance to take on #2 Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.
