They ratified an agreement that could become the new CBA, players want a global settlement that handles the various lawsuits, and the players have to get around to recertifying too or the CBA means nothing.

I thought it was fairly obvious. Those two or three years you have on me must really take a toll.

Good thing they'll never reject it, just refuse to vote on it.

If that happens does that mean its a players strike?

No, they proceed with litigation, pending a settlement or ruling that results in the new CBA.

                      ...which would take years.

From all the interviews with anyone on the players side, not one of them can identify anything that owners "added".

The players either need to sign this or tell the truth about what is really going on.

As for the illegal terms, it is just the NFLPA lawyers speaking lawyer talk. They are saying the NFL is forcing them to create a union which it can't legally do. The NFL isn't forcing the NFLPA to do anything, they are saying that you have to have a union by 7/26 or the CBA isn't legal because there is no union. If there is no union, the NFL can't enter into a CBA with the players. They also can't negotiate all the terms until the NFLPA is an union again.

The biggest complaint I heard from the players was "we don't want to be dictated to."

Basically, there was no way they would confirm tonight, no matter what. It'd look like they did it because the owners said so.

I'm so sick of both sides, I'll be so happy when this damn thing is finally over.

Clark Hunt interview answers a lot of the questions players and posters are asking or saying the sky is falling about - http://www.kcchiefs.com/media-center...8-d5ebb006d168

Yeah, I said that earlier in the day, especially after Smith's 'press conference' earlier today that ended up just him preaching about how forming a union is a big deal and nobody can take lightly.

Wait the players are actually balking at voting on the CBA and will sit and wait on litigation?

They aren't, they've just said they'll reform as a union on their own terms. This reportedly also means they're going to do it on handwritten cards at facilities instead of electronically for some reason.

I was just answering what happens if the players don't want this CBA.

Once games start getting missed - even the first week of preseason, it goes downhill. Things like the salary cap numbers will change because the revenue for the season changes, for example. It would get much nastier.
