Re: NFL Off Topic
It's not a bad sports town per se. However, attendance is one thing and giving an actual **** is another.
The LA area is home to the best player on the planet and the best pitcher on the planet and people here couldn't give a **** less.
Kings fans and Galaxy fans actually *do* care more, but I view them somewhat separately since hockey and soccer are both more of "niche" (I hate this term) sports. They hardly act like Dodgers/Lakers/Clippers fans do.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 08-13-2015, 04:14 AM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
LA is full of hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic sporting fans for all types of sports. Are they the greatest sports town? Of course not, but they definitely aren't what some people here are painting them to be.

As for the cliche descriptions of what sports fans in LA are up to well, you're obviously hanging in the wrong circles if that's all you see.
Shoot up to Pacoima, Van Nuys, Sylmar, San Fernando and you'll find plenty of passionate sports fans (especially Football). Don't keep thinking what you see in Sherman Oaks, Encino, Studio City, etc is all there is. Only referring to the valley.
As for separating Kings & Galaxy fans from Lakers, Dodgers, whatever teams. All teams have fans both good & bad. UCLA & USC have an insane, passionate fan base. Lakers, Dodgers as well. Clippers not really sure about because up until the last few years you really weren't seeing tons of Clips gear floating around or much Clips talk for that matter. But that has tilted slightly, but not as much as you'd think.Comment

That would be an entirely inaccurate feeling.

NFL Off Topic
I wanna say LA is like a West Coast Miami, but with a much younger demographic. Kind of fickle and with so many other attractions outside of sports, but also so many teams there within the sports realm.
I do think it's important that a relocation happens instead of an expansion team going in if the NFL is deadset on making LA an NFL city.
If any league can survive in LA, it's the NFL. I don't see many other locations that offer a more attractive draw. Maybe Toronto simply because they'd instantly be a favorite of a whole nation, although I recognize they also have allegiances themselves already especially for the northern teams like Detroit, Minnesota, etc. It would be cool if an NFL team in Canada could strengthen the CFL and NFL relationship (not sure what it is) and make it a de facto minor league.
If I had a preference, every team stays where they are. I have pretty serious doubts about LA, but times have changed too. Plus, like someone else said, if the NFL can make it a whole package deal of using the city to host events as well, we know they go where the money is so its probably inevitable. If these cities don't lock up their teams, they're gonna be poached.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: NFL Off Topic
1st, the NFL doesn't care about the team or the results of that team in LA. They want a stadium and area for other events.
2nd LA will probably not like the fact that they will be forced to watch these teams play. If they get 3 teams, the only way they ever see a national broadcast is the Sunday & Monday night games. Otherwise the only games on TV will be those 3 teams.
Also how are the broadcasters going to handle this? I guess they will force it to be 2/1 split for conference and then try to work scheduling out. CBS/FOX can't broadcast 2 games on the same channel at the same time.Comment

One of the three teams would always be scheduled in the different time slot than the other two.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
3 teams are unlikely.
One team will be left out in the cold.
NFL wants Rams to stay put, especially if they get a lucrative deal and especially so Cronkey doesn't build his own stadium in Inglewood on his own dime.
There's a huge population but can it support 3 teams? Would be rough traffic if two home games in two stadiums in the region were held on same days.
I believe the NY and SF/Oakland teams rarely play home games on same days, if ever. Maybe one will play on Sunday and the other on Monday or Thursday.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
If any team out of the three had to play in San Antonio it would have to be the Rams. Raiders and Chargers are California. Nobody gives a **** about the Rams. Move them to Texas and out of that generic *** dome and maybe, just maybe folks will notice they exist.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
No way San Antonio ever gets an NFL team, especially the Raiders. Jerry Jones has worked far too hard and long to try to reach the entire SW and Mexico (along with international) demographic for the Cowboys. The last thing he would want is for the 2nd most popular NFL team in the Latino market (Raiders) to move a few hours away and even further into the heart of his fanbase.
On a side note: I live in Austin. We're definitely never getting a pro team.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Was browsing through tattoos earlier and came across a picture of one on someone who looked an awful lot like DeAndre Levy. And that's because it was DeAndre Levy.
He's got a sleeve and a chest piece by a pretty popular tattoer. Most athletes, especially football players, seem to have ****ty tattoos, but damn if he isn't bucking that trend.
So not only does DeAndre Levy play professional football, he also does way cooler, more exciting things in his free time than you and I, and probably has cooler tattoos than you or I.Comment
