I love that idea. I've been thinking of recording my rounds - hole by hole. There's just nothing like that on youtube surprisingly.

aggies, game golf runs around $250 but I use a free app that records stats, club distances and accuracy, as well as keeps you're scorecards and allows you to share via twitter and Facebook. I swear I saw you could also add friends, etc. Could be wrong about the last part. I love it though.

It's called PGA Tour Caddie - it's free but had pro features if you need gps (gives you free 30 day trial)

Also if you want the gps and stuff, get golfshot. It's one payment of $30 instead of a subscription and does all the stuff the above does. It's made by the same company.

EDIT:: Here is a picture of the scorecard as it tracks you during the round, Ignore the bad score, rough day.. It also shows your club distance and accuracy % but I forgot to track it that day.

Just wanted to add I am out to hit some balls before the round around 2PM, as seen in the scorecard above, hitting the fairway and putting is not an issue, everything else is! LOL

If anyone has any tips on how to get backspin when chipping, Would LOVE the info, I chip good right now but no backspin at all and when I misjudge power, it zooms past hole. Thanks!!

Just got my Cobra Trust Rusty Black finish wedge in the mail yesterday, took the day off because of illness but planned to go out to the range. Unfortunately (but prob for the better since im sick and its still only 40's here) I had stuff to do once the club came. But seeing that box sure got me excited (sexual pun in there not intended haha). Hopefully the first day of spring will scare away this cold weather. Wanna get out there already.

Thanks for the post about the PGA Tour caddie, I'll be checking it out.

I started implementing more check/backspin on my chips by just hovering the club a little bit behind the ball. So basically set up as normal, then just lift the club up just barely above the ground. When you perform the chip, the descent will be a bit more sharper and you will start seeing the ball check a lot quicker. As you practice it more, it is a great way to get those low trajectory pitches to a back hole location that just check up so nicely.

You have to make sure your grooves are clean. You need club head speed and you need to hit down slightly on the ball. No need for a divot or anything, but after a while you'll start to get a feel for how to make it check up for you. The type of ball has a little bit to do with it as well i.e. ProV1 and Penta TP5 are better than Nike 20XI or Callaway (IMO).... Definitely the course elevation has a lot to do with it. Obviously it will check up for you more if you land it on an upslope, etc etc

This video does a decent job explaining it, but yea it takes a while to get it down pat

Also I have an app called Swing by Swing that kindof has GPS already in it. Its free and i think you can connect to twitter and/or facebook... I know twitter for sure.

                Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I broke my hand pretty bad a few months ago and had surgery just before the new year.. looking forward to getting out to the driving range and hitting some balls.

I still can't make a full fist, but I've been swinging baseball bats around in a golf swing at practice and my grip is pretty good. The only thing I'm worried about is hitting down like I normally do and the torque that will put on my wrist/hand. Hopefully I can get out early next week, or maybe even this weekend

Thanks for the advice guys and Jmaj, luckily my course has touchscreen TVs as GPS! LOL its amazing, It even shows carts ahead of us on a hole so you know when they are far enough away.

Shot another TERRIBLE round today, such a funny game. One round you are hitting great, next few rounds are down the drain..

Be interested to see next round next week.

This was on The Golf Fix on Monday. Scott Stallings gave a mini clinic on wedges. Michael asked Scott at the very end of the segment on how to do the "two hop and stop" chip shot. Give it a watch, a lot of good info in it!

Anyone have any perspective on the Super Stroke putter grips? Finally went back to a blade. From the TaylorMade Ghost Corza mallet, to the Ghost blade.

Anyways my putting has always been inconsistently terrible. And I've used a blade before so I know its not a magical switch to go back again. I've heard such great things about the fatter putter grips and am thinking about having a Super Stroke mid-slim 2.0 thrown right on the new putter from the get go. Can't hurt right?

                          The OS Golfer's Thread!

I have a 2.0 SS grip and I LOVE IT! I have big hands (wear an XL glove) and the feel and touch I get with it has really made me a very good putter from distances.

Literally at the 19 hole after a round right now. If I judge speed and break decently I am burning the edge of the pin or running lags into gimme distance. I will never go back to a standard putter grip again.

Edit: I also use a blade. Method Midnight 006.

Going back to the Z-Star. I simply love this ball. It was the first ball I ever was able to spin back and when I was younger the price point bothered me. But I bought 2 dozen to get the $45 Golf Now discount and played 9 holes today. I should've never gone away from the ball. I really enjoy playing it.
