One of the best masters I've seen. Really enjoyable to watch.

Somewhat struggled yesterday shot a 90. On the back I started thinking to much and it effected my game. Worrying to much about OB stakes/water instead of just trusting my swing and it cost me. Ball striking was fine, putting sucked other than that it was a decent day.

11:50 Tee time today. Been 8 days since last time out. Hope all goes ok....

and Flight I've been there. Once I get too much in my head then start over-thinking everything, the fluid and smooth play (at least for me) suffers.

              Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Played 18 yesterday. Struck the ball the best I have all year. My problem right now is my short game, just can't pitch and chip very well. This is always the case at the beginning of the year for me. I am such a feel player when it comes to the short game that it takes me a while to get everything dialed in. I was a little worried that my game had left me a couple weeks ago, but now I'm sure I'll be fine once the weather gets a little warmer and my short game rounds into form.

Starting to get dialed back in this year.

Going to take these next 3-4 years very seriously in terms of playing competitively. Playing in about 11 amateur tourney's this year, including a couple local qualifiers for various tournaments.

Figured I give it one last run before I get too old lol

I was really pulling for Cabrera because I love the way he plays and I really, really dislike Stevie Williams.

Also don't like the gimmick putter Scott uses. I think they should be banned.

Cheer up, in a few years it will be. I agree completely with you on the putter.

I was happy for Scott even though I'm a TW fan at heart. As far as the caddie comment. I can't stand him either.

I was asked to join a Thursday evening 9-hole league that starts this week and Saturday up in Dayton I will be playing with a group of about 40 guys that play regularly for the first time.

The guys I currently play with are really cool but have no understanding of golf etiquette. On the greens they will walk in/on your lie. I will be getting ready to putt and sometimes they will stand directly in back of me to get a read. On the tee box they stand directly in back of me and will carry on a conversation. And pace of play? With them it doesn't exist. Great group of guys but I don't know how much more I can take.

Also forgot they don't want to play early in the day or the better courses. It can be a really nice course and challenging but they would rather play a flat goat track. Gotta figure out how to tell them. Lol

Yeah the guy I play with on a regular basis is pretty cool - I'm lucky to finally have a consistent playing partner. Before I'd go out every Saturday/Sunday by myself. Pretty cool to also meet someone on the course and go from there - it's been almost a year.

He played on the GC Amateur tour, first for him was Sunday - I'd love to play as well but some of those entry fees are above my pay grade - plus I got a little man due in july; so can't commit to anything like that yet.

Looks like most of y'all are getting out there. I shot 85 on Saturday at a new course - just have to stop playing golf swing when I"m on the course and play golf course- if that makes any sense.

                            So I bought this:

I was determined to buy the RBZ Taylor Made 3 Wood, but when the didn't have the phase I wanted, and saw the price tag on the new models, I looked for an alternative. This is what I settled on, and really I couldn't be happier.

Looks great at address. Slightly more forgiving than the RBZ, but almost the same feel off of the face. Ball really explodes when you make solid contact. That said, I noticed about a 6 yard average distance between it and the RBZ but, I'm a long hitter, so that 6 yards is really meaningless to me. I hit a 3 wood anywhere from 265-280 yards. Also felt about 2 ounces lighter. Had it trimmed down an inch and a half and re-gripped. I am a fam of trimming down woods. Gives me more of a sense of control, and feel like I can really exaggerate the lag on my downswing to generate a lot more power with a slightly shorter shaft.

Another thing I noticed is the ability to hit this from virtually any lie. Fairway or rough, it really has the versatility of a hybrid in that regard. Much more so than the RBZ.

Excited to play with this some more and get acclimated to it. Think it might end up becoming my favorite club in the bag.

Changing balls. While I love the Z-star. I am not consistent enough off the tee and outside of 120 yds to play a 3 piece ball. Also, with the wife and I looking to buy a house and she needs a new car I need to pinch a few pennies here and there. Going to try the Q-Star and the NXT Tour-S. I know there is little difference in price between the Z-star and NXT ball. If I can lose less of them it will keep me from buying more. Leaning towards the Q-star as I consider myself a Srixon guy. But it never hurts to try something new. The think I liked most about the Z-star was the fact that I could spin that ball beautifully with my wedges. Really opened up my ability to attack the green from inside of 120, hoping that one of these balls will preserve that part of my game, while enhancing the rest.

Just played 18 and front nine used my e6's (Love this ball off the tee) and the back 9 with Qstar.
I'm starting to get my distances dialed back in. Finished with an 88.
                                45 front and 43 back.
The main difference was I can get the Q star to check up on approached a lot more than the e6. However my ball flight off tee was better with e6.
Either way I liked the total package of the Qstar and plan to play a full 18 with them the next round.

as far as my round I was putting onto the green twice for eagle as I am crushing driver right now after finally having a year of driver success. On one I ended with par and the other.... a freaking bogey.
I am having issues pushing putts right now. I had a crap load of puts 4-5 feet that I missed..
That was very frustrating but as with everything else, I'll get it dialed in eventually.
Can't wait for the round everything comes together.
