    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

About to go out and play my final warm up round before I start hitting the par 72 courses. Going out with some friends to another small 9 hole par 3 course. I'll be testing out Nike's new One RZN X ball today, I'm pretty excited to put this into play.

I'll post my results of my round and impressions of the ball once I get back!

It's a pretty good ball... I need the one with more spin.

It was a good ball. Spun like crazy on the greens. It would bounce once then hop in the air and stop dead on the green. Knocked one inside 5 feet on the first hole today. Right then I knew this was the ball for me.

Is anyone else addicted to golf as I am? I literally had far too much trouble falling asleep last night thinking of improvements I need to make to my golf swing. I didn't even play yesterday. I can't wait until this summer when I can just focus on my swing and not have to worry about school

I went out Monday and shot a 117 on a par 72 course. It was much harder than the mostly flat course we have on base. I hit my irons perfect all day unless I had to take some off of my pitching wedge. Then I was hit or miss. Putting was hit or miss. My driver was decent still a lot of hook to it until the last 4 holes. I got closer to the ball in my stance and it was amazing, I started hitting the ball straight for some reason. I will probably hit the range today to verify my theory and then hit the 9 hole par 3 course to practice my short game tomorrow. Things are looking up though.

I love to get out and play, I'm horrible though, but agree that a bad day on the greens is better than a good day anywhere else.

Oh man no kidding. I shot an 84 this weekend and I was like man if i would have made the swing adjustments I made on sunday (a 41 on 9, played much better after the 5th hole) on saturday I would have shot at least a 78. Then I played on tuesday at a small 9 hole coures (still a par 36 just not long at all) and shot a 38. After the round driving to work I was like man I could have gotten under par! if i didn't **** this drive up and that chip there. lol
I love golf. It is by far the best game out there.

                      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

So outside of my spring ball trial. I think I am done with golf related purchases this season. After not buying any new stuff while we saved up for the wedding. I just bought a pair of Nike Lunar Control golf shoes. (white/black) Prior to that the last shoes I bought was three years ago. A really nice pair of DryJoys that I will probably still keep because outside of cosmetic blemishes are fantastic to this day and really comfortable. I am a little older and want to walk a few more rounds this year for the added health benefit, and I tried a lot of shoes before I purchased these. (Puma, Addidas, Nike, Foot Joy, Ecco) and I kept coming back to the Lunar Control. I really like their cushioning which will help my left knee. (Old football injury).

I think I am going out Sunday so I will put them through the paces. If I can't sneak out of work tomorrow

On an unrelated note, I went to register them at nike golf and their product registration site is all screwed up. The year for date of purchase only goes up to 2012 for starters.

Love, love, love the shoes, play 9 today and walked it. Shoes were super comfortable, offered great stability. I couldn't be more impressed, the biggest thing for me was that after walking the 9, my left knee wasn't sore at all.

                          Great news!

Finding a good golf shoe is tough! I went through the bit last year with first getting the adidas powerband, didn't fit - blisters, then went to GolfGalaxy and bought the Puma AMP cell - bad heel issues, blisters. Then went online again and got the true linkswear - size didn't fit, forget it.

Finally I ended up getting the Ecco Casual Cool II model. Fits like a fricking glove on my foot. Love it, never any issues whatsoever.

I'm having trouble deciding on getting a Fairway wood or a Hybrid. I play a lot of courses that have quite a bit of tight fairways. Thinking going with a hybrid may be better than getting a new 3W.
Looking at the Nikent F26 or the RBZ 3W.

PLUS I already have a 3W (Superfast 2.0) that I'm "ok" with but not as consistant with it. So if I ever decide to go back to a 3W on some courses I have that available. Can't carry both as I'm a wedge whore.

I can't hit a hybrid to save my life. I don't know what it is but I've never been able to effectively use one.

I can hit my irons like a pro, but my driving is inconsistent as is my putting. Some days out I'm feeling it and absolutely on fire, and other days I feel like I'd go 50+ on a putt putt course.

If you can hit an iron, you can hit a hybrid. It's the same swing. It's in your head! Lol
