I can hit a hybrid pretty good. Used to have a Nikent 4 a few years ago.
Then I finally got my long irons down but I need something to fill the gap a bit from 4I to the driver.

I like my 3 hybrid and my 4 iron but the hybrid is longer, creating a yardage gap. My four iron is like 190 and my three hybrid is 210. :o

So at a 200 yard distance I'm usually in trouble haha.

Well I am about to tee off here pretty soon. I played this course last week and shot a 117. I feel like I am better at driving now and I am also going to walk the course. I think that will help me slow down and play a little bit better.

I was going to play solo and walk but I ended up playing with someone and it turns out that he was a complete weirdo and it threw me off my game. I played terrible on the front 9. I ditched him and played the back 9 by myself. I ended up scoring a 115. Slightly better than last time.

Got out today and shot an 88. Not to bad for a soggy day. Shot +4 on the last 2 holes in the pouring rain.

I didn't play, but drove an hour and half to Topeka,KS and saw one of the best golf instructors I have ever met in Josh Nahm. The guy worked with the best of the best (Haney, Gilchrist, Leadbetter) and he took this swing:

                  Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Well since I got some time now then I will fill up this thread.

I played today on the course on base and shot a 106, for the third time in a row. I bought a golf GPS app that tracks stats also and it helped out my game off the tee a lot. I had better club selection and ended up getting better shots closer to the green and not overshooting it. I also had a couple of shots from far out that landed on the green. The course was real wet and that caused me to lose about 4-5 stroke because of balls I hit real poorly because it was so swampy.

Also, I went out and bought some wiffle balls. That way I can work on my swing in my backyard. My driver has a wicked slice to it.

                    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I played Sunday and hit it pretty well for the most part. The wind was blowing over 30 mph and seemed like it was dead in my face on every hole, so it made the course super long. I played bogey golf, which wasn't awful for me considering the windy and wet conditions.

Played last night in our club's 9 hole scramble. We tied for 1st at -7 and ended up coming in 2nd after losing the 60 yard chip off. I didn't hit the ball very well, but I made 3 putts of around 10 feet. I'm not a long driver, but I can help a lot in scrambles with my putting and short game. It's just good to be back out playing. The weather in KY was great yesterday and today. I will be out again this afternoon.

Also demo'd Ping hybrids and Titleist hybrids last night. Hit the Titleist much higher and just as long if not longer than the Pings. Gonna hit the Nike and Taylor Made tonight. Cannot wait to get some new hybrids in the bag.

Well I went out and walked 18 today. I have played this course twice already and I shot a 117 and 115 before. I ended up with a 106 on a par 72 today and was ecstatic. The tips you guys have been giving me were great thanks. I'm going to keep working to lower that score

Just got home from playing in my Thursday evening 9 hole league. I just played the best 9 holes of my life. Shot +3 for a 38

All aspect of my game came to together. Don't have the words to explain the feeling that I have right now. Had one bad hole where it was a 431 yard par 4 and had the wind at my back and hit a monster drive leaving me 125 to the green. Tried to finesse a PW and came up short over water. Skulled my 4th and ended up with a 7. Other than that hole I was putting for bird on every hole and that has never happened before. I will always be left wondering what I would of shot if I had played the other 9???

Golf is such an amazing game!!! Nuff said

It always gets you to come back. There is always something you could have done better. It's the drive to score better than you did last time.

Reason 37 why I always now play to full shot layups.
Yeah there are occasions I just try and hit the snot out of it for fun but I'm best served at getting to 85, 115 or 135 yards out. Those are my best 3 layup distances.

I simply HATE and when I say hate I mean HATE.. Finesse shots.

I do most of my work on the range at finesse shots. Usually pick a target at an odd distance and try to hit it. Not that it matters because once I get to the course it all goes to hell, but it feels good on the range.
