    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Went out the other day with my cousin. We played a very scenic course, with some short par 4's, some longer par 5's and tough greens. I find it amazing after the last three years or so I've been golfing how different parts of my game show up on different days.

Now that every part of my game is respectable, its so strange. My drives showed up pretty much all day. Fairly straight and very long(the longest having driven 5 yards short of the green on a par 4 of 302 yards. I averaged about 260, but hit several between 280-290. My woods were decent and long irons ok, but my approach game which is usually the best part of my game was non-existent. Also my putting, which has been extremely strong as of late was a disaster. My god how golf can surprise you after all this time.

      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

After not being able to get out for roughly a month I'm excited that Saturday I'll finally be getting out. Get off work at 7am that morning but will get some sleep and be ready by the tee time of 3pm.
      Can't wait!

        BTW:
        Ended up shooting a 90
        47 front / 43 Back

Surprisingly my irons were serviceable but had too many drives off line where I had to waste a shot getting a ball back in to play for a look at the green.
I was fighting the dreaded block off tee and would then over cook it to the left.
Did have some that were ok but consistancy was not there to say the least.

Heading back out this Thursday aftre a range session non Wednesday.

Looks like this fall my purchase for next year will be the Game Golf.

Bought this on Boxing Day for 264$. I was using phone GPS apps before but wanted something that I could 100% trust when I'm playing a round.

Tested it out when I got home by lasering neighbours houses and lamp posts haha. Can't wait till the day when I can go out and hit the course.

Best thing I've ever did was switch from GPS to laser range finder.
I've tried them all from phone apps to hand held GPS.
The ease and accuracy of the laser finder makes it so much better for me.

Laser finders are great. I use mine less for pin locations per round and more to take hazards out of play. Knowing that if I take a full club and miss right I bring a bunker/water/ob in play can lead to me taking a different club.

Hi all, new to this thread. I play in Shelby, NC at a course call Deerbrook. I have a 7 HC. Last 3 weeks have been brutal as far as winds go. We usually start out with a minor frost delay but once we get started it is around mid 30's but warms up. The last three weeks, we have seen winds of 10-20 mph gusts.
(Hope the weather is great wherever you guys play.) I have shot in the low 80's and felt like I played pretty good.

The 'wind waiters' on the tgctour would have a big problem playing in these real conditions. Just kidding!

                          Me too Lol

What was a 2 man thing has ballooned into a 5 man thing. Seems most of my friends have had it with the cabin fever.
We're just playing a short course (9 par 3's and 3 par 4's).. good way to get some swings in and see where we're at with ball striking etc..
                          Really looking forward to it.

One of my friends recently got the swing trainer PVC circle thing. Made me laugh this morning as he said "I feel like I'm under the gun now to perform since everyone knows I bought the trainer"..

Told him not to worry about it and just have fun.

My main ball is the Zrixon Q Star or Pro V1x
