    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Just walked out of GG with a SLDR. Got fit last year but after buying an R1 when it first came out I waited for this to go on sale. Not sure if I'll take my Convert out of the bag but with my $20 off coupon a SLDR for $179 is a steal.

      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Well (Not to mess with golf Gods but) range session yesterday showed progress with driver. With new grip (slightly adjusted and I tend to be RH happy it seems) I was much more consistent and even had a few nice draws.
Still had a handful of 15ish yards fades slice but nothing like what I've been having.
This is the last time I neglect driver in winter. I mean I did hit some but not near what I worked with on irons.

Currently playing my SLDR-S at neutral settings but may go to a bit of draw bias.
Tee off in 2 1/2 hours with a bud.

Gamegolf is in my pocket this time lol

Putting was solid as well as short game but until I get driver sorted out the rest will suffer.
Weather also wasn't as warm as I expected.

The whole day started off wrong and never recovered really.. starting out with getting 1/2 way to course then realizing I left my Gamegolf on kitchen counter charging....
Finished with a great 96 lol...
        To be continued.
Stick with it. The winter work will pay off, it just doesn't pay off all at once. For me, the biggest change wasn't that I went out there and started pure-ing it every time, but my bad shots became decently playable misses (as opposed to complete disasters), which is a huge step forward for me. It's amazing how low you can shoot if you just keep the d*&^! ball in play...

I've been taking full swings and its starting to feel natural to me. Will take it to the course sometime this week. That will be the real test. Going to the course where my buddy is the head pro (don't ask me why I haven't just paid him for lessons...) so at least I will be able to get the round in for free!
Casting has been my problem for years, and may well still be. I'd be interested to hear how your progress in fixing it has gone, but for me, after years of trying to fix it/fight it, I sort of came to the realization that - for me, anyway - intentionally trying to "hang on" and "keep the angle" to create lag doesn't work at all. I mean, I can get it to work once in a while (and BTW it results in some pretty awesome shots), but if 1 out of 5 times you hit a great shot, and the rest of the time you spray it straight right, that's not a very good solution IMO. What I have come to realize is that lag/not casting comes naturally if you fix other parts of your swing. For me, it was actually pausing for a quick second at the top of my backswing, which allowed me to release everything - legs/hips/shoulders - in sequence. My whole issue was sequence, and not letting my hands/wrists release until everything else had gone through. Then, the casting just sort of naturally fixed itself. Of course, like all golf advice, your mileage may vary...

        Good luck out there, guys.

Well I shot an 88. Putting was attrocious. Drives are a ok with only 3 missed
          My main problem is Gamegolf.
I tagged my first drive then didn't remember again until I was putting. Figured I'd edit the round online so no biggie. I maybe tagged 2 shots the next 2 holes lol

My plan is to write TAG on top my glove as a reminder for the next round which is possibly tomorrow .

Sky what i do is make it a part of my preshot routine. I tag mine as i am walking up to the shot from behind the ball.

But when you forget just grab the clubs and tag them on the green. when yiu edit your round its just a drag and drop.

Yeah it will take some getting used to. I have a routine I've used forever.. Just need to get this one step added.

Good post man. I'm struggling getting in sync right now. I'm overswinging like crazy and not really pivoting. Thankfully I've got a great coach who is patient and doing his best to guide me.

Fixing your swing is painful, and the payoffs come over long periods of time. Stick with it and don't get discouraged that it seems like things aren't getting better (or may seem like they're getting worse). As someone (somewhere) once said, if all you've ever done is all you do, then all you'll ever get is all you've ever gotten...or something like that.

I wish everyday on the course was like the first day back on the range. Just striping it today, swing always feels good when your just swinging and not thinking about the swing.

Anyways, great to be back out there, hopefully some courses open up around me but there's still some snow on the ground. By next week should be getting 18's in I hope. Got down to a 12 last year (oobgolf says so), going to try to break the 10 mark this season.

Going out for 9 tomorrow. Want to see the work I did, if all goes well, the next two steps will be hip turn and inside out swing path.

Got out for the first round of the season, had a pair of 41s, shot realistically consistently. Wasn't hitting a lot of fairways, but I was cleaning up my messes quickly.

Playing my first round of the year this coming Monday after Easter. Finally got healthy (sciatic nerve issue) and weather (Houston, TX) is finally cooperating and I am not traveling for a while (Singapore for 2 weeks in January and Nigeria for a week and Aberdeen for a week in March). My latest clubs are also in my sig.....

Played the nine and it was more bad than good, but I partially blame my playing partner. He is new to the area and was running way late as I was picking him up. Had 0 range time and was really "cold" out there. Swing felt awkward at full speed and was still hitting the ball outside/in. Managed to get sorted out a bit on 7,8,9 but it was beyond frustrating.

Best part of my game to day was my wedges and everything from 120 and in felt really good.
