Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
My setup isn't that exciting. I have an old Cleveland driver, a Taylor Made 3-wood hand-me down, a 10+ year old Wilson 5-wood, and 3-PW Titleist 804's that I love but are in desperate need of re-gripping. Not a baller setup, but I'm comfortable with it and see no need to change until my game warrants (deserves?) a better setup.
I also struggle with decades of bad habits, which come out the second I let my guard down. I'm waiting for recent swing changes to feel second-nature, but until then, when you get out on that course and people are around and you have one shot at it, it's hard to trust the new swing and not just revert back to old habits (since you know you'll at least "hit" the ball, and not make a total jerk of yourself...). All I can say is tough it out. At some point, it will (hopefully) take hold and be second nature to swing the club properly. I know I'll be fighting the outside-in and casting issues for the forseeable future.
Yeah, I think most people are better if they can warm up first. I mean, you don't see the pros hop out of their car and just start teeing it up. Problem is that many courses don't even have adequate practice facilities, and even those that do, very often circumstance/time/partners cause you to do the ol' out-of-the-car-onto-the-tee routine, which isn't good for anyone. I'd say 90% of the time I never get a chance to warm up before a round, which sucks.Comment

The OS Golfer's Thread!
Loving my setup for this year. Just picked up the irons at the end of last season and only have a few rounds on them.
Weird that my bag is pretty much all Tmag and I'm a huge Nike guy in all other walks of life, just always seemed to gravitate towards their stuff when trying things out. Can't beat the TW 13's on the feet though, best golf shoes of all time.
Driver: Taylomade RBZ 10.5
3 wood: RBZ 15 degree
5 wood: Adams Speedline 17 degree
3 hybrid: Taylormade Burner 19 degree
Irons: Rocketbladez 4-GW
Wedges: Rocketbladez 55 degree
Putter: Acuity Anser DN2
Ball: Titleist NXT

I love my gamers, all pretty much second hand from GolfWRx classified
Driver: Callaway Rzr 9.5
3W: Taylormade (can't remember which one, it's older though)

Wedges: Mizuno MPT4 50, 56, 60 and MPT5 52

As you can see I love Mizuno. I'm going to eventually complete the set with Mizzy Driver, 3W and Hybrid.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
How'd you like the SLDR? I really love mine. When I hit it pure the ball simply flies and flies and feels so nice off the face.Joshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Yeah the ball does fly but for me the biggest thing is my miss is no longer a lost ball slice. It's a more manageable fade/slice. That alone brought the score down. Had so much fun today found my putting stroke again and was all over the holes when on the green.Moderator

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Glad you got your putting stroke back.. Mines still AWOL.. lol
My chipping and pitching are decent but irons are still 5-10 yards L/R. Once I get that and putting sorted I'll be a happy golferJoshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Yeah, my chipping has really be a shock to me. I've holed out from off the green twice so far in about 4 rounds, which is 2 more than I did all of last year. Starting to get confidence in my game still hit a few too many bad shots (took three swings go get out of a bunker and yipped an approach wedge (could've been a 85 or better round). But the overall swing is feeling better all over the course.Moderator

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Tiger looking a lot better. Seems more comfortable.
I'm sure he isn't "bacK' as they say but so far it's nice seeing him on the course again.Joshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Short game was fantastic, putting was so much better than it was a few months ago but still a little erotic at times off the tee.
But he also hit some fantastic drives. Really hard to tell where he's at.
Tomorrow will be a huge day for him and it's frustrating we won't get to watch him until he reaches Amen corner.Comment
