Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Playing for the first time tomorrow morning as a business meeting with a customer.
Nothing like getting paid to play golf.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Anyone have a chance to hit those new TaylorMade Stealth carbon drivers yet? I'm curious but at the same time highly skeptical...Plus, I've always felt that Callaway drivers just sort of 'feel' better to me, whatever that means.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I haven't myself. But I got paired with a couple guys a few weeks ago who told me that there have been multiple reports of them just shattering upon impact. I haven't seen that anywhere but it doesn't mean it isn't true.Comment

I have. Went for a new driver and tested that vs the TSi.... I went with the TSi. I like Taylormade, but the Stealth just felt weird.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

I've done a swing evaluation and about three lesson, and haven't got the take away and swing plane close to being right. Needless to say, its a struggle.Florida State Seminoles

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I've actually being doing lesson at Golftec. I played a lot of golf over the years, but never had lessons. I wasn"t that great, probably shot in the mid 80's and 90's on average. It was amazing to learn how way off I was when it came to the golf swing.

I’m sure that will change with muscle memory I wouldn’t get too discouraged.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
As the resident club fitter here, I'll chime in on this. The Stealth is testing pretty solidly. Very forgiving driver. Anyone having durability issues with it can't keep it on the face, the only issues I've seen is chops who hit it off the crown and would be doing that damage to the driver regardless of what it is. There's no way they would have risked putting a face in that isn't durable. Can't have tour guys breaking them mid round, and don't want to have to fill a ton of warranties from consumers. So I will absolutely say with full confidence the driver is very solid, and the face is durable.
That being said, there's a reason, after playing the TaylorMade driver each of the last 6 years, that I'm playing the Rogue ST this year...St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
So Stealth is really good, don't get me wrong. It was a tad more forgiving than my SIM2. But when I was fitting golfers early with Rogue ST, I just started to see better numbers. For myself, I'm typically a higher spin player, 2800-3000 rpms, so I'd try and launch my driver around 10-11° to optimize it. With Rogue ST I actually got my spin closer to 2600 rpms, so it allowed me to get my launch up a little higher. I was actually carrying it 7-8 yards longer than SIM2 and Stealth on good strikes. Now that's for me, and I've seen it go both ways for other golfers. But in my time in the industry, I have yet to see that kind of distance gains, and changes in numbers from one year to the next. Yes, I get a new driver every year, but with the strong selection of drivers on the market right now (Rogue ST, Stealth, TSi, LTD, and G425), if you're playing a driver that's 3+ years old, I absolutely urge you to check out some of these new ones. They're crazy good.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Very good to know thank you. I am currently rocking a 2015 Callaway XR. I wanted to finish the lessons I have planned (3 more to go) before I even consider a new driver.
The place I go to is a top golf swing suite so they have Callaway clubs available. Down the line I would like to get my whole bag fitted.
