I play high school golf and the season starts back in August, so I felt it is time to get back to playing everyday to get ready. Plus, I am finally getting spring-ish weather, so I can actually play everyday without fearing it will drop 40 degrees the next day.

Shot 44 (+9, par 35) in my first full nine back since I stopped playing sometime in November. When I stopped I averaged in the low 80s, so we will see how long it takes me to back into form.

BTW my swing just felt terrible yesterday lol.

Went to the range to "loosen up" as Renditions is having a tourney this coming Monday. It was bad, can't wait to consistently get out there and play. My swing was all out of sorts. The thaw around here has made all the courses green soup, but I may go play 9 and just to be out side. Played in this thing last year and our team finished +1. Not bad for the first hour and a half the greens were frozen and you couldn't stop an approach at all.

I like Renditions - really nice track. Yeah, the Masters scoreboard is a bit cheesy, but hey - adds something different.

My swing is....in need of repair. I might just have to find a good pro and finally take a real, honest-to-goodness lesson. It might finally be time. I don't know how much better I can get by DIY'ing it much longer.

I haven't been able to play much the last couple years. Got maybe 3 rounds in before injuring my knee in 2013 and needing surgery. Last year I probably only played 4 times since I played a ton of softball. So when I played last week, I expected to be bad. And while I was really bad off the tee, I still managed a 102. I've only broken 100 twice, so this was pretty good. My goal is to get to around 90 by the end of the year.

Playing my first round of the year today. Only playing 9 because I couldn't get an early tee time and I have practice this afternoon, but hopefully I can get a full round in later this week.

I've been playing a lot of TGC lately, so I'm going to be disappointed when I don't shoot 65

Team shot a -6 yesterday at Renditions. I managed to hole for a birdie on #3. Burned the edges on like 6 putts. It was cold and I didn't start really striking the ball till we were 10 holes in.

With winter ending around here soon enough, it will be about time to get back on the course! Any other southeastern PA golfers? Haven't had a round since November - team scramble at Butter Valley. It is also about time I upgraded my gear.

For those with newer equipment, anyone have any recommendations? Mainly looking at new woods, irons, and a putter. Everything else I'm set on for now.

UA announced they are releasing their golf shoes this spring. Been looking for these for a while. Will probably wait for a review because UAs first sets of basketball shoes were garbage, they've been doing R&D on these for almost 3 years.

Well I'm slowly getting there. Pretty happy with irons but struggling a bit with driver. Did get one dead center to 268 today.. so I know it's in me...but not consistent.
Today was first day hitting the SLDR-S and loved the feel off the club. I hit 2 pretty pure and one terrible.

Anyways I played the short course again today mainly as I want as much work on irons as I can. Shot a 40 (+1)..
And had a pure lucky Eagle.
I was about 103 away and was between either my Gap which goes about 110 or my SW which is 95. If I had caught that the flag was on a top tier I would have went with gap but instead went with SW.

Well I struck it slightly fat so was short of green.
It hit a sprinkler cover.. bounce up and on green... rolled to hole, hit pin and dropped.. lol

I'll take it though

Finally got out for the first time this year after not playing since roughly November.

Played a course out here in Denver called Todd Creek. Tough little track with the wind blowing pretty consistently. Shot a 34 (-2) with a 3 putt on number 2. Hit a downhill slider a little too firm and it rimmed out which would have been my par.

All in all though a solid day. Drove the ball well, got up and down twice and rolled the ball solidly on the greens. Good step in the right direction for the new year.

Ok after going back and forth on whether to start incorporating hybrids into bag I made a decision.

I love hitting my long irons BUT I go through spurts of nice contact ..right to not getting great contact at all.
Figured this was the year I planned to go all out and do my best to improve my scoring so I needed to do something.

And yes for some reason hitting the long iron vs hybrid was more "I don't need a hybrid!!" dumb mentality.

over the past few weeks I narrowed it down to the TM Jetspeed vs the Ping G20...
(Side note.. I never buy the newest equipment.. purely for $ sake..)

I hit them both it wasn't long before the Jetspeed was not a contender.
While I hit both well I was extremely more confident standing over the G20 and I know it was due to the offset.
I simply felt I couldn't hit a bad shot/mis-hit it... All in the head but that's big for me.

Then I seen they had a G15 still in stock.

Same look/offset so I hit a few and was, as far as feel and ease of contact, no noticeable difference than the G20 at least to me.

G20 was 130.00 and the G15 was less obviously at 80.00... So I now have the G15 in my bag...
After the next 3 days I'll be off for a week and weather permitting I'll have a few more rounds (and finally some on a full course) added to my GameGolf stats

If you can hit a used Nike Convert (the original) I'd give it a try. I love my 4 hybrid. I crush with it. It's the most consistent long "iron" in my bag.

I actually just picked up a Covert 2.0 2h last weekend at a golf show. Can't wait to get out and try it out.

Question. Are any of you guys switched over to spikeless shoes? I picked up some TW14s, but also a pair of spikeless FI Impacts, interested to see how they are. I feel like they'll be nice when it's softer out in spring.
