Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I actually just picked up a Covert 2.0 2h last weekend at a golf show. Can't wait to get out and try it out.
Question. Are any of you guys switched over to spikeless shoes? I picked up some TW14s, but also a pair of spikeless FI Impacts, interested to see how they are. I feel like they'll be nice when it's softer out in spring.
Nope, and I doubt I will. I only wear my golf shoes on the course. I know that if I get those spikeless ones and am in a rush or the wife needs something I will wear them and wear them out. I like that my golf shoes can last me two or three season in the Maryland weather (mud and muck with some really hot days.). Plus all they ever need is new spikes.
Not sure about the spikeless ones for wear and tear.Moderator

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I wore spikeless last year. No regrets so far. Only really changed to see how they'd be. I still have a pair of spikes as backup though.
performance wise they've held up. Wasn't sure they'd be as slip resistant as spikes but no issues yet.
I like the option (if I'm rushed) to already have them on driving to course.
EDIT: Wanted to add that mine actually look like spikes and are not the ones with just the small dimples...Last edited by Skyboxer; 03-23-2015, 02:02 AM.Joshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Well hitting the short par 39 course tomorrow after work which will be my last practice before hitting a full course.
We have a foresome for Sunday morning at 11... can't wait as I really have put a lot of work in over the winter (more than I ever have before) and hope to see results that I'm getting practicing, transfer to the real deal. ..Joshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Just stumbled upon this thread. Good to know there are other golfers out there that love sports games as much as I do. Matt10 - I see you support Sporting KC. I'm a season ticket holder and love the atmosphere at Sporting Park. I hopefully will be getting out and playing a round this weekend as the weather looks great for the Topeka area.Comment

I didn't do the above, got impatient at my first round and started over-swinging/going back to bad habits, and I ended up back at square one. Subsequent rounds I did stick with it, and so far it's been better. But if you get discouraged after a couple of bad shots - even some embarrassing tops off the first tee in front of everyone - you have to man up and have conviction that you're gonna keep doing your thing until it comes around. It will.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Good points man...
Right now it's dreary out and it's supposed to get sunny in a few hours. So I'm hitting the sack to get a few hours sleep and then will see how weather is.
The other days I know I'm going out are tomorrow (Supposed to be a little wet BUT 73 degrees), Sunday foursome and Wednesday just me and a bud...
Here's to wishing everyone has a good, fun seasonJoshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Dick's just sent me a sleeve of Callaway Chrome Soft. Heard they were too soft off the putter will play them soon enough.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I do like them as they stick to the green really nicely. Durability (due to the softness) is my only concern but not judging it yet on only a few plays with them all at the short course which is all short irons and wedges most of the time..
Curious to see how you'll like them.
On another note: Tomorrow is my first day on a regular course. 4some set up for 11am tee time.
I believe we are playing team match play. Can't wait!!
Will "report" my progressLast edited by Skyboxer; 03-28-2015, 10:28 PM.Joshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Well.... good and bad... and I have to say more on the bad.
Irons were decent like I thought they'd be but I have a ton of work (Totally been neglecting it) with driver. Hit 2 oe 3 fairways. Multiple holes of penalty strokes after the tee off etc...
Putting was solid as well as short game but until I get driver sorted out the rest will suffer.
Weather also wasn't as warm as I expected.
The whole day started off wrong and never recovered really.. starting out with getting 1/2 way to course then realizing I left my Gamegolf on kitchen counter charging....
Finished with a great 96 lol...
To be continued.Joshua:

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Its been hard to get out here in Maryland so far this "spring", but having the room to do full swings in my basement since the Tourney I went to earlier this month and the 27 holes I played after that, I think I have finally stopped casting. I've been taking full swings and its starting to feel natural to me. Will take it to the course sometime this week. That will be the real test. Going to the course where my buddy is the head pro (don't ask me why I haven't just paid him for lessons...) so at least I will be able to get the round in for free!Moderator
