Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I forgot to come here and mention this... but I got my first round of the year in on Saturday. February 18... golfing, in Canada! Ridiculous! I'll take it though!
It's been unseasonably warm here, and with temps in the mid 60's here over the weekend two local courses opened up. Now, of course they weren't in the greatest shape, but it's golf, in Canada, in February. So, I'll take what I can get! It actually wasn't bad, the greens were, well, thick, slow, and not exactly smooth so that made putting a challenge, but again... golf, in February when we should have snow.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I've been studying this swing over the winter and am going to try to put it in practice this year. Have my first tee time this Sunday.

Hopefully it pays dividends. I know its an old video but Mike Austin holds the longest drive record on the PGA tour still and he did it with a persimmon driver. His mechanics and theories are rock solid.
Best of luck with it. I loved the experience and reading the articles, watching the videos, and of course the book. I could never get Shauger's twirl down correctly and felt like I was using more wrist than anything, so now I'm in a bit more conventional swing from my local 'Ol Pro here. Shot 81 this past weekend to start things off, not a bad start.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Played 9 holes after work yesterday. We won't discuss what I shot, but it was so nice to be able to play golf in February. I did putt extremely well which almost never happens the first few trips out.
I'm hoping to play again today after work.Last edited by countryboy; 02-23-2017, 10:02 AM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I still need to order mine for this up coming season. These have been essential for me and have become part of my pre swing routine the past 3 seasons.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I have these since last year but took them off after a couple times out last year. Don't know whether it was the extra step of taking them off or what.
Probably should throw them back on.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Nice stretch of weather coming up over the next two weeks. Hope to get out a few times during that stretch.
Also don't know if anyone shops at The Golf Warehouse online, but they have having an apparel sale today only.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I can't wait for the season to begin. My guess is around April 15-16. Once the courses stop being cart path only, my season begins. My goal is 130 rounds. My last two seasons I played 123 and 127 so I'm hoping to add 3 more. Weather will be the main determination given factor. If the courses are wet, I can't play.
I hope you guys all have fantastic seasons and 1 putt all summer.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Spring's here...dust off those sticks and get out there!
Hit the range the other day for the first time in a while. Definite rust but started to come back by the end. The thing I hate is that no matter how hard I try, I always end up having to go back and re-fix or re-learn things that I had down a year prior. Even when there's no layoff involved, certain bad habits just always seem to creep back in and I don't even notice. But then, I suppose if there were a finite number of non-recurring problems in a golf swing, we'd all be on the PGA Tour....
Keep 'em in the short grass this year, fellas.Comment
