Heading out to the course today. Short notice, as I received an invite within hours of tee time. Should be a nice relaxing day though. Only the second time out all year. Can only improve.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Played in another Sunday skins yesterday. Had a crazy round. Had a Quadruple, A triple, a double, a 3 putt bogey, 11 pars and 3 birdies for a 79. Rolled in a 25 foot big bender on the #2 handicap for a $60 skin after lipping out birdies of 8 and 3 feet on the 2 holes prior. Solid score but a lot of scrambling pars helped it be a 79.
Taken a total of $430 in the skins games so far.
My swing feels like its slipping a little and has been for about 2 weeks. Those high scores on those holes were from hitting balls into near waist high heather and losing them and having to re-tee. It's been windy, but I should be yanking shots that bad. 3 lost balls is a killer. Back to the range this week.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Played at Poipu Bay, home of Grand Slam of Golf in Kauaui, HI yesterday. Such amazing views but driving into the trade winds was a bit challenging.
This was the look from the first tee.
This was 17, a par 3 that played downhill with the trade winds. The ocean was off to the left.
And a pic from the clubhouse/locker room

Awesome, kodiak! Thanks for posting those pics. Always love seeing different courses and cool places that I've never been. Hope you kept 'em relatively straight out there!Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
I've purchased the majority of my clothes off ebay. Heck I got some Puma golf pants for $40 on there, they're usually regular 100+$.

My holidays from work start today and thus begins my prep for the U.S Open. Planning on leaving around 2am Monday morning from my city just outside Vancouver. I'm bringing my DSLR with me along with a high zoom lens. I'll be taking loads of photos for you guys. I'll probably upload each days pictures to photobucket or something and post the album link here.
Still have lots to plan but it's almost here!Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
went out a played an 18-hole par 3 course today. First hole was about 105, and stuck my drive (52 degree) to within inches for an easy tap in birdie. Could you imagine how the rest of my day would go?
Hit one more GIR and managed two more 1-putts for a dismal day at the course. Still saw some good flashes of my game though.Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Quick update on my US Open trip.
I've taken over 1200 photos and videos over two days. Unable to upload because I left my cameras USB cable at home. I'll try and upload the photos and videos sometime on Sunday.
Also as of typing this I just finished following Rory McIlroy for the 9 holes he played. The better part? The gallery was no more than 30 people. Such and unreal experience. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Rory like that again. Watching him play is like nothing else I've experienced. I'm so motivated and inspired to work on my game once I get home.
Also for those going in the next few days, Chambers Bay isn't a very spectator friendly course. You'll have to choose your spots wisely if your following a group. The grandstands that are by the 6th green give you a fantastic view of the course. Bring a pair of binoculars with you as I wish I had. My camera lens has a decent zoom on it (100-300mm) but you can't really stand by most fairways as they don't allow you to stand on the hills and mounds.
All in all I'm having an absolute blast and I'll be taking many more photos and videos tomorrow!

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
What the heck, those greens look absolutely terrible on TV. Apparently, they roll true, but you can't even tell where the fringe stops and the green starts (on TV anyway).
I love the links-style courses, and I love to both play them and watch them on TV, but I feel like 1 British Open per year is enough.Comment
