It's amazing how much further the ball goes when you hit your driver without a stupid fade.

    Golf thought of the day.

76 rounds in the books. Index is 11.2, handicap at my home course is 13.
I am the lesson after the fall.

      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Got another round in today. Played one of the nicer courses in are area, bit tougher than where I've played the last two weeks. Insanely humid out there this morning too, but I put an 86 down on the card today. A 41 on the front, 45 on the back. I struggled big time on 10 and 11, then got my game back on track. Wasnt for those two holes I probably coulda gone 41, 41.

All this again while spraying my R15 all over the place off the tee again. So frustrating. I picked up a TM Aeroburner driver from my brother to try out. He's got about 4 different drivers in his garage that he keeps winning at work, and he rarely golfs. Maybe a simpler, easier to set up and hit driver will help me out. Think I'm going to take the R15 to a local pro/lesson guy and have them fit it and adjust it to me and my swing rather than me constantly fighting through all the settings.

So I went to a PGA Tour Superstore today. Wow. I could have easily spent 3 hours in there. Giant putting green, all sorts of flat sticks (even the top shelf ones. Scotty, Bettinardi.) All of the big club makers had their own fitting booth.

For 99 bucks, you could get you whole bag fitted by a pro in special area testing a whole bunch of different clubs, shafts, etc).

Definitely considering getting the pro fitting (they called it the tour van experience) in the future.

Oh yeah, and I'm also going to the 1st round of the Barclays in two weeks, weather permitting. My father was able to get free tickets, being retired military.

I finally got my new golf shoes from my family for my birthday today. If the Nike Lunar Control 4's are anything like my Lunar Control 3's, I'm in for a real treat.

Played a quick round of golf today with my grandfather while wearing the new shoes. The shoes feel fantastic. I've been in love with my Lunar Control 3's since I got them back in December and didn't think Nike could improve upon them. Boy I was wrong.

They feel so much more stable and I they just grip the turf so well. I was skeptical about the swoosh on the top of the shoe but I never noticed the swoosh once when I was addressing the ball.

I highly recommend these shoes if anyone is looking for a new pair of shoes. Nike makes the best shoes available.

                      Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Played in our member guest over the weekend. Over $14,000 in the prize pot, $5K in our flight alone and my partner decided to play like a clown.

6 team flight so we had 5 9 hole matches or 45 holes for the weekend and he maybe had a ball in play on 15 of them. I shot 78 on the first 18 and we took 6 1/2 points total. We finished with 22 1/2 points and I think I had 21 of them. So frustrating. I shot a 38 on the final 9 and took 7 points while I drove the corpse of my partner around.

He's a 10 handicap, shot even par on the front a week before the tournament. If he had to play his own ball out, I can't even imagine what he would have shot. 120 would be kind, maybe 150 he hit so many balls out of bounds. Unbelievable.

Finally getting dialed in though so I will have to jump in a few more tournaments. Subbed in a league last night and shot 34 on a course I have never played before.

Posted an 82 today. Front 9 I shot a 43. Could not hit my driver to save my life. So I put it in my bag for the back 9. On the back 9, I was even coming in on 17, when I hit my 58 degree wedge thinking it was my pitching wedge. Posted a double bogie, and then 3 putted the 18th for a bogie. That mistake on 17 rattled me. Grrr.

Time for me to get some time in with my coach. I hate not being comfortable with my driver.

Got a 8:45 tee time in the morning. Here's to hoping the rain stays away.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

So I played today, and boy was my driving an absolute nightmare. Lost way too many balls off the tee. Tried a bunch of different settings with the driver, nothing seemed to work.

Yesterday I had a nice round, left a few shots on the course, but that's golf...I guess. I posted a 41 on the front and a 39 on the back.

On the 3rd I'm heading up to a course call Woodensticks. It has replica holes from PGA courses, so I will get a chance to play Sawgrasses #17, which is my favorite hole in golf. So until I get to play Sawgrass, this will hold me over. Looking forward to it.
