    2 things.

1.) I've played 101 rounds so far this season. 140 is within reach.
2.) Next season, I'm playing with Vice golf balls. If you buy 5 dozen of their top ball, it comes to $24 per dozen. I've played a sleeve this season, and they feel the same as my Pro Vs, which sell up here for $65 per dozen.

Hope you are all scoring low.
I am the lesson after the fall.

Not quite that many but think I'm up to about 60-70 rounds.

I've shot my lowest round ever this year , an 83. My goal of braking 80 is reachable but running out of time this year.
Consistency is my nemesis, I'll string together 4,5 Pars and a birdie mixed in then have a blowup or 2 that ruins scorecard. I know I play too fast at times and need to slow down and relax more.

        To be continued...

            Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Ok next week is all set. 2:50 tee time Monday and probably a 10am'ish tee time Tuesday at same course...

Now if you'll take the time to listen to my frustrations Lol

The biggest issue by far is consistency and that's mainly with driver. (There's others but I'll get to that in a moment)

I can nail driver great for 5 holes then all of a sudden I block one right that depending on course/hole is either the adjacent fairway or OOB.
To be clear I don't slice at all. I hit it dead straight but 30 yards right of target.

That's the holes that screw up card.

I use the same grip etc.. but I am assuming I'm either not getting a full turn and add to that not rotating through the shot.
I've videoed my swing and I'm either straight or slight inside out (thankfully as I had fought an over the top for a good while) .. So that's why I'm assuming it my turns or a bad release.
Also not ashamed to say I will tend to get the drop kick with driver also. Even with irons I have a really hard time getting weight forward at times. Really wish I could get an aha moment to cure that.

Lastly I have a "tweak swing" issue where I am never satisfied so I am constantly trying new thoughts etc... I get waaay to much in my head. Really need to stop that....

            Thanks for listening

              Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I don't know if this will help, however I find when I'm hitting my driver poorly, it's because I get lazy and don't focus on my swing. Due to my slice issues, if I take the club head outside and don't get my swing (under the hola hoop...my swing thought), I come from the outside and slice the ball. Also, I need to make sure I get to my proper finish position. It makes such a huge difference.

One day I'll get a video of my crippled body swing.

Well, stayed the same stroke wise, but a few interesting things happened.

                1. Ball striking was better, but my main problem was 100 yards and in today. Couldn't putt, pitch, and chip for ****.

                2. I only lost 7 balls today, which for me is a miracle.

                3. I have finally settled on a ball that I like. Wilson Staff Duo.

Well, my 4 man scramble didn't go quite like I'd hoped. We finished 3rd but taking 6 weeks off to let my back heal definitely didn't help. I was okay, but couldn't control anything. lost 12 golf balls on the first day 25 with 50km/hr winds gusting to 75. Next day was 11 above with rain and 35 km/h winds so it was absolute crap.

Looks like the golf clubs are going to be put away soon as the weather is changing and the wind is really starting to blow up here.

Good luck to all of my fellow golfers, hopefully your drives are long and your putts are stright.

Yeah a big part of it is me being "Lazy".. Heck sometimes I start talking to myself like "Take a full turn and finish the swing"... Would like to get past that lol

Have you tried the Top Flite Gamer ball? It's my go to ball when I'm out of sorts. They really do play pretty good. When I'm on its the Chrome Softs all day.

I almost broke 80 today for the first time.
Was only 5 over through 15.
Of course I doubled 16 and shot a bogie on 17.
Missed a 12 footer for birdie to finish at 80 for the fourth or fifth time this year.

Had 7 birdie putts today and didn't make any.

I'm going to focus on putting all winter, it's the only thing holding me back from shooting in the 70's.

I am having tremendous success chipping the ball by having a very slow, and methodical, backswing. Making absolute pure contact everytime. I used to shank, or skull it across the green, and of course flub at it. Now though, it's like clockwork. I can take this to the course because I never go to the range anymore.

Also thinking about going this route with my full swing and pitch. It feels like I'm able to accelerate like crazy through the ball, at least on practice swings.

118 rounds in, 5 away from how many I played last year. My body is done. I'm getting ready for the end of the season. The country club is predicting November 15th as the closing date. The next few weeks look like it will rain a fair bit. Today and Friday look like a wash, so no golf for me.

My last 5 round scores are 76, 75, 76, 78, 76. My lowest score this season is a 73. My index is 7.7. When I started golfing again 2 and half years ago after my accident my index was 21. My golf coach is incredible. He has my golf swing in a good place.

I hope everyone's season is going well. Score low gentlemen. Score low.

Have not posted here in years. Forgot about this place.

Anyway going to play tomorrow with three friends. First time this year I've had time to play. It's been a really busy year with work and my fiancé and I had a baby back in Feb. looking forward to playing again. I have some new golf shoes I want to try, other pair was falling apart.

My friends like to drink beer when we play so this will get interesting by the back 9 lol. Temp is looking like mid 80's tomorrow in SE Texas.
