    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Had a nice 75 yard hole out today. It was hole 11. Had about 80ish yards to a tucked back right flag after hitting a horrible 6 iron off the tee. I hit the 6 iron horribly fat, my divot started at least an inch or two before the ball... once I got to my all I decided to hit an easy 56 degree wedge in close. Hit the ball, solid contact and I posed watching that ball fly through the air. It landed right next to the pin, hopped once then disappeared.

I literally started freaking out and put my arms in the air and looked behind me at the group of three guys behind me as they starting yelling and cheering. Nothing beats holing out for birdie.

I also shot my best score at the course I played at. +5 67. Only a short par 62 course but it does have some challenging holes and the pins for the most part are always tucked away in corners and near hazards. I always play better on the back nine than on the front whenever I play. I'm a huge feel player and I don't really get comfortable with the course I'm playing until about half way through. Regardless of whether I've played the course before or not. The score card is below:

Did it twice this summer, and it has motivated me so much to get lessons and improve. Only problem for me right now is time. I just don't have it. I could skip a round for lessons, but I always go with friends and would rather play than practice...Congrats and I hope you can continue to "go low"!

Whoo! My new irons just got in today. Gonna go pick them up after work and get some practice in with them. Can't wait!

Played Highland Creek in Charlotte on Saturday. The course was in horrible condition which was really frustrating... it also rained most of the round.

I wasn't keeping my score but I would imagine I shot around 95 or so. The greens were horrible to try to putt on as the ball bounced during most of its roll to the cup. I had a lot of trouble off the tee with my driver or any iron I hit. I was pulling a lot of shots left, but finally figured out my timing and rhythm on the last 3 holes and went par, bogey, par.

It was fun to get out with my brother and some former college teammates, just wish we had played on a course that was in better shape.

So I was at the practice green today working on my putting. I was horrible all day with my regular putting stroke so I decided to try the pop stroke that Brandt Snedeker uses.... guys it's the real deal.

Every putt I made that didn't go in was within a foot and a half of the hole, nothing was left outside of two feet. I had more control of the putter and the path the putter was taking and I had the perfect speed almost every time.

Definitely going to try it out on the course when I get the chance.

Played yet another round today and I FINALLY broke 80! Shot a +7 78! So stoked! Granted it was a very short course from the tips but it was only $25 to play today, couldn't pass a deal up like that.

It's actually part of an app called Golfshot. All data from all of your rounds is stored on their servers which can be accessed via your phone or their website.

The score card is just a screen shot from the website.

Had the weirdest par of my life. About a 200 yard par 3. Pretty much completely level, no elevation change. Just SHANKED it into the woods to the right probably 100 yards up the fairway with my hybrid, about 5 feet into the woods it hits really solid off a tree, and pops out of the woods with a lot of steam headed right for the hole. Rolls about 50 yards, so I have about 50 yards left to the hole. Pitched it to within 4 feet and putted in for par.

Lucky as hell; probably saved myself 3 strokes, easily

First time posting in this thread.

I've been golfing since I was 5 so going on 26 years golfing now... Wish my short game was better after 26 years...

Anyway, finally played today after taking a year and a half off due to a back injury. Forgot how much I loved this game. Golf will be part of my recovery post surgery.

Played in a fairly big skins game over the weekend. I had just missed a 4 foot birdie putt and headed to the next hole, hit a pretty big drive and was 110 yards out to a front pin. Pulled out a gap wedge and flushed it and flew to the back of the green and it just rolled off the back leaving me with about 70 feet up over a hill and then hard breaking to the right. I decided to putt it and just pretty much whacked at it trying to get close and save face with a par. It rolls over the top of the hill turns on the blinker and trickles down and drops in the jar. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. No one else birdied that hole, $250 for my efforts.

5 weeks out of knee surgery now, so I'm thinking I'm gonna try and get at least 9 holes in on Wed. Haven't played since April

                                Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Played on Saturday. My putting is still very good. Reading greens well and just coming up inches short or long. On Saturday I was crushing my hybrids (2 and 4 iron). The surprise for me though was I stopped hitting my wedges (52, 56, 60 degree) fat. I was hitting them pure and was getting them to spin and check up, which I couldn't do with my GI 9i and PW. I am itching to go out and see if I can repeat it again this weekend.

Made the change to the super stroke 2.0 putter grip and my putting has taken off. If I could just star sinking the ones that burn the edges and come up short that is another 6-10 strokes around on greens that I am two putting that I could easily one putt from the 10-15 foot range.
