Just finished a captain and crew tournament...we were +1 through 12 holes before we had to stop because of rain. My long irons were god awful, but my short game was the best it's ever been. I sank 2 long birdie putts and holed a pitch for birdie from about 40 yards out. Even my missed putts were all left within a foot. Hopefully that carries over to next year.

Tomorrow I hit the course for first round this year.
Pretty excited but expect a lot of fine tuning to be needed.

Hit them well.....I tried to play a week ago and only got 5 holes in before rain got to us and haven't been able to play since because of rain and now I am in West Africa for a week.

Wife surprised me this Christmas with a new set of Callaway RazrX irons and my daughter and her boyfriend bought me the 9.5 degree RazrX Fit Driver which came with the RazrX Fit 3W for free.....got an Ogio cart bag that has some very cool features. When I get home, I will get a couple of new wedges and a new putter to round of my new Golf set...got some FootJoy DyrFit TOUR shoes, but may return them for the FootJoy Icon shoes when I get back since I haven't worn the new FJ's yet.....haven't played much the past two years since my Callaway Big Bertha Irons and Woods were stolen a couple years ago....lastly, downloaded Ben Hogan's Five Fundamentals of the Golf Swing on my iPad as my book was stolen with my clubs....great instructional tool as I am a disciple of Ben Hogan's swing....

Got out yesterday for the first round of the year and didn't play all that well. Shot 90 when I probably should of shot around 82/83. Missed at least 3 putts under 6 ft and flubbed about 2/3 shots due to rust of not playing and then add in the fact that Aston Oaks Golf is a tough course. Just thankful that I was able to get out. Here's a pic of one of the holes.

For not playing in a few months I was better than expected.
Front nine I shot a 45 and back nine a 52. Last hole.....a 10.. ouch.
Anyways a 97 for day 1 of new season.

Times like this (winter break) make me wish I lived in a warm climate. After the new year I usually get the itch to go golfing again.

In the best case scenario, courses will be open in 3 months...

I got out on Friday in 40 degrees (weatherman said it would be 60s) and now I've got the craving for more. Can't wait for this season to start - damn cold right now though!

Got a new set of Mizuno's that I'm ready to break in and ready to play in some tourneys this year.

I got a new putter for Christmas, and I really want to give it a whirl. But we've had highs in the 30's for like 2 weeks here. Hopefully, by the end of next week, it'll get a little warmer.

I'm ready as well. Bought the Cobra AMP irons on Boxing Day (amazing irons by the way). Grips changed to the orange New Decade Multi compound grips.

I'm just waiting for February to hit so I can try out the new drivers and pick one of them up!

Love those irons. I hate having new irons during these winter months though ,lol.

Thankfully I'm still rocking my Mizuno MP-33s. They are the best clubs I've ever had, period.

ok so I was at Golftown yesterday getting my Cobra AMP's fit. After about 10 mins though, I wasn't liking the way they felt for some odd reason. So I started playing around with the Nike VR Pro Combo irons and was insantly sold. So I sold my AMP's to them and purchased the VR Pro's.

Got fitted for them and they will be here next week.
