    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Man was my putting bad today. Shot 90 but could've easily broken 80 if I had any feel on the green. I guess 3 weeks off will do that. Going back out next week, hopefully I can shoot low.

        Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I shot a career-best 33 at the Par 3 course I frequent a couple times a week...very exciting experience. I've shot a 29 at an easier Par 3, but this one is in another league.

I left a few shots out there too. I splashed a shot in the water on the easiest hole on the course, then missed a three foot gimmee after nailed a 210 yard tee shot within three feet of the hole.

After a long, dreadful season, it feels good to have a career best round and feel like there's still room to improve.

Heading back out tomorrow. Definitely not expecting a repeat, but I'm excited to give it a shot.

          Congrats.

I've been wanting to go back to a Par 3 course for a while now. I played one 8 years ago (when I was 14), but I haven't had a chance to go back now that I've vastly improved. Think it could be fun to give it another shot.

My very first time out on the course, I played 18 holes on a normal course, and then we played 9 on a Par 3. I haven't played one since. There isn't one close. I'd like to try it again. My putting has improved a ton lately, and my wedge game has always been my strength. I think I'd do really well on a Par 3 now.

                  Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Shot a 49 friday morning. I started playing on Father's Day (might have said that in this thread at some point) and my previous lows were 112 on 18 (still is) and 55 on 9 (I've been playing 9s lately because it's faster and cheaper and I'm short on time and cash). The 49 brought a smile to my face and it would have been at LEAST a 45 if I didn't suck it up on the last two holes....

                  Oh well...progress!

Haven't played much in the past 6 months. This summer heat has been killing us in Southeast Texas. Ready to get back on the course when it cools off. In the past week it was in the 80's during the day and in the high 60's early morning.

Last time I played shot a 51 on the front 9. Best front 9 I've ever shot. Made about a 30 foot breaking putt for par.

Bring some of that rain down here! I tell you, it's been one hell of a summer.

I got on the course today and shot a 72 on a three par course, so I'm getting better, but I'm still a ways away. I've been invited to join some of my friends on a local muni north of here. It's going to be one of my first times golfing with someone other than myself, so it should be interesting.

I have a good friend coming into town this week. Denver weather is supposed to be in the 60s Thursday and Friday, so I should be able to get 1 more round in before winter. Then it's a long wait until it's warm enough to play next spring.

Well out team finished 6 under in 5th place out of 15 teams. Not bad.
I did win a closest to pin hole
I was a bit lucky though. The pin was front left and on the right the green had a second (small) tier. My ball hit right on that edge and rolled back to the left about 2 feet inside the current closest location about 18" from cup.
                                I'll take it though.
The charity was for funding for college scholorships for kids with little funds for college.

                                Good day overall.
