Yes...have played it twice. We won't discuss my score. I did however have one birdie and it was on the Par 3 11th. It was playing probably close to 195yds and I stuck the ball 2 ft from the hole.

    Nothing else worth talking about.

      Ugh. Shot a 42 with 4 freaking 3-putt bogeys

I was just striping my driver and hitting decent irons in. Then the putter goes to hell. I love this game.

On the bright side, this was my second 9-hole round of the year without a double bogey. Usually what kills me is the blow-up hole, but I played pretty darn solid tonight minus brain farts on short putts.

        Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

        Damn golf.

Played in my league tonight. Got there late so I started after everyone else and hooked up with a group on the third hole after I finished the first so after I finished the ninth (played terrible), myself and one other guy walked back to the second so I could play 2 and 3. After finishing on the way back we decided to replay the 9th since it is on the way.

It is a very narrow but driveable par 4. Since it meant nothing, I decided to pull out the driver and go for it. Following my typical fashion, when I try and kill it, I slice it right and into a lightly wooded area with nothing but trees. The trees knocked my ball down about 120 out and because of the trees I had no other choice but to hit a low liner out because I could put no loft on it.

Wouldn't you know it, I eagled my first par 4 ever. And it didn't mean anything as it was on a hole that didn't count toward anything.

The only other time I had ever holed out from any sort of a significant distance came on an approach shot after duffing a drive on a par four so it was only a birdie.

Nice to get an eagle on a par 4 but somewhat bittersweet.

Shot a 39 last night in my league. First time I've broken 40. My score included a triple bogey, so I was playing really well. I stuck 3 wedges within 5 feet (only came away with 2 birdies though ) Putting is still killing me right now, as my confidence is almost shot. Need to hit the putting green!

playing in a golf scramble tomorrow morning. I have actually forgotten the name of the course though, so thankfully a buddy of mine is picking me up at my house and we're riding together.

Not sure how many others have played in scrambles and their take on them, but I actually enjoy them.

Hey guys, I played today and shot an 88! That's the second time I've broke 100, and first below 90. I learned you save tons of strokes with keeping the ball in play and a good short game. I wasn't striking the ball well at all in the front 9, but kept a 45. On the back, I shot a 43. I was so excited!

                  Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I started at 14, first year of High school with women's set and made the team and my dad bought me all new clubs. I started out in the 90s and have progressively gotten better. Some of my best finishes at high school tournaments were I took 3rd at a varsity tournament with a 77. I took 1st at two JV tournaments with a 39 and 40. We are Regional Champs two years running and we just won our league in late May. I am going into my senior year hoping to be one of the best on our team considering we have arguably the best Junior class golfer in the state (Kansas). His average score at tournaments last year was 74 with a best round of 69. Now I have never shot par or better, but my best 9 hole score was 1 over 37. Sorry that I just poured my golf life story out and all lol

I love scrambles, they allow you to have fun with your friends and best of all you can shoot under par real easy. None of my friends play on the golf team or competitively for that reason but we occasionally just play a round and scramble and we easily shoot 8-9 under or better on public courses and maybe 3 or 4 under at links courses.

Had a great time at our scramble yesterday. We shot 7 under as a team and finished in 4th place. The winners shot 10 under and two other teams shot 9 under. We had a chance to finish around 9 under but all had issues on our last Par 3 in which we bogeyed.

I didn't play bad, as its really hard to assess your game during a scramble, but we used several of my shots, especially the short game.

Ya 7 under isn't bad. The short game is where all the strokes are made up, you make birdie or even par on some of your holes, you're prolly tied for second. Although, I don't know your buddies, we have a designated putter that is way better than us and he averages 30-35 putts a round by himself.

I've played a few of those courses, the ones at Mobile, Greenville, and Muscle Shoals. Those courses are really beautiful.
