Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Well, $35 American is almost $50 CDN so that what I was referring to. The Vice balls they recommend for me for two dozen are about $70 American which with exchange will work out to $100 on an order.
As for playing the Board of Trade Country Club? I'd absolutely be interested

Sounds good my friend. Very kind offer. I'll definitely hit you up. Too good an offer to pass up! What kind of green fee we talking?

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Finally broke 80 this year. 78, playing from the blues, where I usually play the white tee boxes (closer).

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Yes, I've tried it. David Lee's son is now heading up the site and instructions.
You really have to get the drills down, and the feeling of the high right shoulder (heaving the drunk man on your back) correct to get the counter balance moving.
I think it's a good way to go. I do feel like it would result in a complete and absolute swing change though. Not sure if that's what you want mid-season or not.
Now I have to figure out that drive swing and wood swing. My drives were going decent about 250 but my 5 wood only goes about 210. So I need to get those same momentum principles into that. I have to say it is really easy on the shorter irons. Effortless just letting the club drop into the slot and pinch down on the ball.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
So I looked into the gravity golf thing (cursory look), and is it basically just incorporating a 'backwards' fall with your weight to start your downswing? I went to the website and watched some of the videos, but I wasn't really sure what they were saying that was novel or different.
My major problem at the moment is I still get 'stuck behind' and I can't get my right elbow out in front of my body on the downswing. I have no idea why this is the case, but I suspect it's at least partially due to bringing the club too much inside on the backswing, which I developed a habit of doing whilst trying to get an inside-out swing path (which I successfully did!). I think it's now too much inside-out and I get stuck behind and hit a lot of thin shots.

Finally getting full rounds I feel comfortable the whole way.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Nah, I much prefer weekday golf. I work shift work so I have random days off during the week all the time. I'll hit you up soon. Maybe you can help me figure out how I went from scaring breaking 80 all the time two years ago to being a bogey golfer

Golf...if it's not one thing, it's another....
1. The grip...standard interlocking with the last 3 fingers on the left hand and middle 2 on the right basically holding the club.
2. Keep the weight on the arches to heels of your feet at address.
3. Be able to lift your back leg and still be able to balance on the front leg.
4. Bring the club back like you are tossing a medicine ball to someone over your back shoulder. Once the swing reaches its natural apex, turn your belt buckle towards the target and let the club fall naturally and whip around.
5. Keep the back foot planted on the ground as long as possible. It will come up but you lose alot of power if that comes up too early.
Now instead of leaning back to the right a little with the driver, I am addressing it more straight up and down like an iron. Driving the nail instead of sweeping up at it.
I saw some extra distance last night for sure and the swing is easy and repeatable. I need to get out this Friday to see what it actually does on the course, but I'm excited.
This isn't gravity golf, this is me taking some of its principles that I can easily execute within my swing. The gravity golf would be a total swing change and I don't need that,in fact, I'm not sure I could pull it off without months of practice. I just needed more solid contact and more distance off the tee and I think I found it.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!
Those are some good keys; I'm going to try to hit the range today and try out some of those drills. I'm in the same boat as you; I just need to make solid contact more often.
I wouldn't be averse to a whole swing overhaul, but I've done that once by myself and I'll never do it again. I'd be willing to do it, but only under the care of a trained professional who I trust (!).Comment
