Because they're not EA selling 1 million copies over 2 platform... they're barely selling 100,000 copies over 3 platforms, now it will be 4. It probably wouldn't be too much a problem on PS, but I'm sure it would be very difficult to find a game on PC or Switch it it's divided into 6 level of difficulties. This is one game needing cross-platform really bad for multiplayer because of the few copies they're selling.

Anyway, that's ranked multiplayer where all the cheaters and pros with their spreadsheets are playing, they can have it. It's really no big deal to me. You will probably never play that either.

They keep referring to their "research" telling them people want certain things, but I'd be interested to know what their "research" entails. If it's a focus-group, those are less than useless.

"Their research" is just a BS catch all to defend whatever choices they've made or plan to make.

No offense or anything personal to people at HB these days, but in my eyes, the "charm" has been gone from them and their communications since around the time of the TGC2 development.

It's been tight lipped, corporate style PR and forum censorship ever since.

Looks like Finau is wearing Nike in the game when they show him in cutscenes, but your MyPlayer doesn't appear to have access to Nike apparel.

They did say they want to add more brands later down the road as DLC.

Just a note I pulled from TGC Tours forums...the devs had previously boasted that no one would break par on day one playing on Legendary difficulty...

Liked a lot of what I saw today. Two negatives for me are the meter putting. Think they had a better putting system last version. I believe it can be turned off but don't think it will be for online tours (it was on legend preset). It also just looks like meterless putting would be hard in watching streams

Not being able to put user courses into career mode is probably the one that hurts the most for solo players. Seems like that should have been in game without question.

Just got confirmation from Seamount4Life that you cannot swap out the preloaded courses in career mode for user-created ones. So you're stuck with the ones they put in. For example you can't use Firethorn National for the year's first major.

That is a disappointment.

I just watched that round. In at least 4 cases I saw, if he had hit the shot with the right tempo, he'd have been in serious trouble. Like there was one par 4 where he was aimed too far to the right, but he hit an offscale "Fast" tempo, and it hooked his ball right where he needed to be. He got some favorable bounces that brought him out of the heavy rough and into the fairway.

Still, he made some great pitches and chips, and rolled some lengthy putts without a grid.

I'm a bit surprised that they leave the power meters on in "Legendary"!? Crazycanuck said himself that the game gets significantly harder with them off. He'd have had trouble breaking 80 if he'd had them off in this round. I'll bet the TST Society will have them turned off in their tournament settings.

I watched a lot of golf today from a half dozen different streamers. It was really information overload and I'm overdosed right now. What I did learn was that I'll probably find my best fit with Master Difficulty level, with the power meters turned off. It could go down to as low as Pro Difficulty if it's as difficult without the meters as Crazycanuck said.

I just hate having to watch power meters when I'm playing golf. It takes me out of the time and place long enough to make me feel disassociated with it. I want to watch the golfer and gauge my swing based on it. I also imagine we'll have a tough time settling on settings for the Digital Sportspage Society that I manage. We have a mix of Pro and Master players now and it's going to be hard to find a happy medium. There's all sorts of tweakage though and we'll come up with something... I hope!

I just hate having to watch power meters when I'm playing golf. It takes me out of the time and place long enough to make me feel disassociated with it. I want to watch the golfer and gauge my swing based on it.

Same here, I really, really, really hate them. This was my biggest issue with EA Rory.

I only play Societies with friends so im all in.

I suspect that Society play with friends will be the best fit for this game. Fortunately for me, that's how I've spent 85% of my time playing TGC 2 and TGC 2019. I was looking forward to learning a lot more about Society structure and play today, but it was off limits.
