Re: Xbox One
Yes, and apparently they have a limit of only buying 3 years ahead for XBox Live. I snatch one up every time I see it on sale for $34.99. Right now I'm active through 2015. Opened a case when I couldn't get a Live card to work, and was told it's a system limitation which seemed odd to me, as they don't limit the number they sale you at the point of sell.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If games were priced like that by either Sony or Microsoft, then they'd have a LOT more support from gamers. That's not what they've been doing though. Instead, they seem to take every opportunity to keep prices high on digital content. Sony has only been slightly better due to the fact that they give real/decent discounts with the Playstation Plus, including free to play games, something Microsoft hasn't come close to matching.Comment

They are not allowed to dip lower in digital compared to box store prices through licensing agreements, since years ago EB Games already threatening blacklisting.
PC is a totally different beast. There is no "console licensing" agreements.
There is always more to it, than "publisher greed". EB Games is the long of greed, their used games policies wreak of it.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Xbox One
have to many people in your room watching a movie, well the xbox1 says **** YOU PAY ME MORE MONEY TO CONTINUE WATCHING
To address the question of the age of the patent. Yes, the patent is old. But we have been told by UK industry sources within the last month that this system will be implemented on Xbox One.ExtremeTech discovered the filing back in November, which is labelled as covering "content distribution regulation by viewing user." Theoretically, if the Kinect establishes there are more people in the room than is permitted according to the licence that users agree to when renting of purchasing content, the movie won't play."The users consuming the content on a display device are monitored so that if the number of user-views licensed is exceeded, remedial action may be taken," it reads.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I can see Microsoft now going to content providers like yeah, this thing can monitor what your customers watch and how many people are watching a particular show/event, we will gather this data and send it you! and the content providers are loving it.Comment

Re: Xbox One
MS can start giving achievements for you mentioning certain brands, wearing clothing, etc.
MS can even turn its self "on" when you enter the room or even ask why you haven't played with it today.
MS is making a play for big money. I hope it fails, but who knows.Comment
