What then for MS? Will the devs jump ship more (I'm sure some smaller ones would) to PS4?

I guess I wish I could see into the future to see how this plays out for MS if they most interest they generate are from those who don't use their video game console to play video games.
Gamers are still important to MS, no matter what's been said due to the Reveal. I mean if gamers weren't, why invest over 1 billion dollars on the development of games for the X1. Why push 15 IP's, 8 being Brand New IP's for the 1st year launch window.

Sony can claim the PS4 is all about Gamers & the Games, but smart gamers know better as they were told the same thing with the PS3 & what they got was a device used to win the format war between HD-DVD & BR

I don't get the whole this system is not for gamers thing either just because the press event focused on non-gaming features. If you were going to reveal a product that does most of what a competing product does (playing games), wouldn't you want to show off what your product does that the other cannot do?

The PS3 still was a system about it's games too. To say that it was used to win the format war is ridiculous. They were confident that BR was the format of the future and included it on the PS3, same as they did with DVD on the original PS. By that logic you just used, the 360 wasn't about the games either because they were using it to push HD-DVD.

So let's get a bunch of AAA titles that won't return their investment, while strongarming indie developers and driving them back the to PlayStation again.

Again, show me where (aside from FPS games) the 360 beat the PlayStation in terms of exclusives?

C'mon King. If the 360 was about getting HD-DVD into people's living's rooms it would have been the drive of choice. Yes Micrsoft had a stake in HD-DVD, but not as much as Sony did with BR.

Both systems had great exclusives, so again I'm not sure what's the problem. No one but you is claiming that 1 system had better exclusives than the other as a reason why the PS4 is more of a gamer's system than the X1.

For me I could care less about Last Gen. I have been very happy with my gaming experience with the 360 & can't wait til E3 to see what Games MS has coming down the pipe

Thats a pretty big assumption to make when nothing has been released as of yet. When it comes to exclusives I have no interest in what Playstation brings to the table. I'll enjoy my sports games, blue chip titles from Rockstar, and the huge games like CoD and Battlefield that get release on both. What I'm trying to say is that the exclusives aren't the end all be all for a lot of gamers.

Same difference, really. Stores will have to raise prices to account for the percentage. The incidence of the fee is different, but the result is basically the same.

Hardly, big difference between an arbitrary flat fee inflating and maintaining a minimum price for a used game vs a percentage system. Certainly hoping for the latter.

MS is going to have to get it right on the price. Non-gamers may be interested in the system and all that it can do, but I don't think they spend any more than $300 for it. That may be too high also. If MS lowers the price and takes a loss on the system, then they have to make it up somewhere. They will get some money from Live, but they shouldn't plan on selling any games to these people.

I wonder how the used fee from Microsoft will affect the depreciation of game prices after release. Will we be seeing games like Tomb Raider and Hitman drop from 60 bucks to 30 bucks in two months like we had this gen. Gamestop wont be forcing retailer's hand anymore with their great deals on the used market front.

Perhaps it has been answered, but I have a question about the "used fee".

If I went in and bought, Tomb Raider used for the Xbox One at say, 30$, would I then have to buy a pass, just to play the game? We're all used to the EA activation codes, but that was mainly for multiplayer, or other connectivity.

In general, I prefer to buy new games. But there are some games in low circulation, like a Marvel Ultimate Alliance that you have to buy used.
