    "optimal experience" isn't a requirement.

They do get a %, but I don't think it's anything substantial. I just meant that the sharing thing, if true, wouldn't hurt Microsoft as much as the poster I quoted made it seem.

In the long run it would because publishers would be pissed.

That would do way more harm to their bottom line than piracy ever could.

Pretty sure they get a decent amount from every disc sold as a licensing fee.

$7/title platform royalty in this chart:

          http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/ente...ideo-game.html If it's a percentage that's 11% of a $60 title.

Going to pre-order my Xbox One tomorrow...looking forward to it. I don't really have 10 players I play with all the time but the ones I do are all getting it and we're putting each other in the "family". BTW on the 24 hr connection...since many people have a smartphone can't you use that as Wifi and connect to that just to play your offline games?

Do you know if putting "in the family" is that simple? Xbox hasnt said much about that process.

Most people dont pay extra for tethering their phone. Its another expense and you shouldnt have to pay that just to enjoy a game console.

There is no justifying a Xbox One. You are gimping yourself no way around it, I mean who is gonna buy a $500+ machine that can and will turn into a plastic brick at some point? If we bought it there is no reason they should have a right to control you after that, but they are. Buying to rent and buying nothing but a bunch of restrictions is all it is.

I wish some how they would turn it around but it seems all but over at this point

But, if it's like anything CPU/Online related it could easily cause problems as well. Just one more thing Microsoft needs to clarify.

I am behind what MS is doing. I always have been. Dispatch mentione some pages back that this current gen really showed their commitment to what Xbox means, and they did deliver. I don't understand this theme that many carry, claiming MS is intentionally making it hard on gamers. If you look at their history, they have done things that really make the gaming experience much better.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

How though? What can it do that a PS4 "can't" do?

                            Just wanna here some opinions

                              - Play all games without the disc in the drive both retail and digitally purchased.
                              - Share entire gaming library with family and possibly friends (yet to be fully detailed)
                              - HDMI passthrough allowing for a better multimedia experience (if you aren't using your box for multimedia in some form, you're in the minority)
                              - Included Kinect so it can be assumed to be available for all developers to consider using
                              - Ability to give away any game (unless it was already given to you)

No opinions, just features. I am sure there are others, but those are what came to mind first. Proceed with the minimizing.

So is the implication here I have no good reasons to get an Xbox 1? That's what I gather from the bolded. You might not but that doesn't mean I don't have good subjective reasons to get one.
