Mine works flawlessly (mostly) with a quiet room, get some noise and/or have the tv volume up and we have to shout at the Xbox like we're on Jerry Springer

OK, so a question. If you just hit the power on your Xbox, do your devices (like TV) turn on?

Now, for Xbox On, this is my recipe for success:
        "Ecks Bocks" [Pause a .5 - 1 second] "On"

Say it firmly, facing directly at the sensor from about 5-10 feet away. Works for me about 95% of the time.

        That's because of 2 reasons:
        1) If the sound is coming through the Xbox, we can know to ignore it.
        2) There's more processing power when the Xbox is on vs when it's in standby, so it can do a better job. You definitely wouldn't want lots of "false activations" for Xbox on. People would get annoyed.

Yeah that's a pretty bad idea especially considering the bandwidth caps that may be coming thanks to net neutrality dying...

I'd be interested but need more than just a discless SKU. Would want incentives/programs to support it. Would be awesome if that's the first sign of the canceled features coming back and existing concurrently in the same ecosystem as the traditional setup.

Certainly not a product for everyone.

Has anyone had a problem with the play & charge kit...not charging? It worked fine when I first got it two days ago, now it doesn't charge when I connect.

I agree, I could see somewhere like Japan or other countries who have a lot better network infrastructure than the US where pretty much everybody has high speed internet at reasonable costs; would make sense for them, as for the US at this point unless you're in a google fiber type area....nada.

It would just be an option for people who don't want a drive...don't see why it'd be a mess, more just an option....

Wouldn't change the games at all, the install is required no matter what.

IMO options are good (though I'd always want a drive).

Major Nelson's said he'll have a post up tomorrow detailing the Games with Gold for February...

Here's to hoping something for Xbox One is free now! They have to give us something soon. Also hoping the 360 games are decent.

It would be a mess if many people pick up the console not knowing that it doesn't come with a drive (parents). Having a bunch of different SKUs isn't always easy on the consumer. It can be confusing.

What's the benefit for the consumer? Cheaper cost? Option for another hard drive? What am I getting out of it by not having a drive?
