Not the best for sure, but if it's still at a level that shouldn't really hinder my performance I'm okay with it in order to enjoy the benefits of HDR.

I feel like I got a great deal on the set and have been really happy with it so far.

The KS8000 is soooo good. Kind of distracted me from the PS4 Pro, tbh.

As far as the Pro, didn't really get to play it in 1080, but it is definitely gorgeous on the 4K screen.

Here is the thing, that input lag is to high for competitive online shooters. But COD and BF and TF are not HDR games so just turn it off for those and turn it on for HDR games which are Last of US and UC4 which the input lag will not be much of an issue

Super jacked about my early Christmas gift. Thanks girlfriend! Swapped the hard drive out and put my 2TB one in. Now just going through the menus.

Corny as it sounds, the gentle PS4 music playing in the background while I fiddle with menus reminds me of the day I brought my launch PS4 home and was doing the same thing. Early adoption can be painful at times but it's the little nonsense like this that put a smile on my face lol.

So Watch Dogs 2 will have a "Pro mode" on release? I thought it wouldn't be out until later this year.

Heck you talk about over the show forums and the show has been proven to run at 60 fps since like 09 yet you have people over there that complain about fps issues lol.

Maybe not the forum to talk about the show, but as a show fan and remember I don't almost ever go into the Mlb forum when pitching and batting it is not 60fps and it's obvious as night and day. The easiest way to notice is just focus on the batters bat and look at it skipping frames. It's extremely obvious. It's not as noticeable while the ball is in play, and MAYBE it is 60fps while ball is in play, but during pitching and batting it obviously not 60fps.

One game is not indicative of input lag hurting the experience. And BF1 is not a twitch game either...Most shooters are but not BF1

Is cool, I am just letting you know that having HDR on a non hdr game counterproductive

How do.you even have HDR on for a game that doesn't support it? On my setup HDR doesn't turn on until in launch a game with it. When I am playing an ps4 pro game without hdr my TV is normal. At least on my LG HDR is its own mode in place of "standard, cinema, vivid or game". If the game is an hdr game it goes into a completely different mode that is separate from those.

As a side note I was able to go into my custom picture settings and remove all processing from the hdr mode and now NBA I completely playable for me. Not saying there isn't some lag but I cannot perceive it anymore.

But IMO. What I've seen and heard from people I know/respect. If you don't have a 4K TV there's little reasons to get a PS Pro. Many "enhancements" people are seeing are placebos that everyone is trying to justify their purchase. Which we all do and is certainly okay to do.

Just be happy with your purchase. If it looks better to you and your happy, who cares what someone else thinks. Enjoy the new hardware and games. Life is short.

I agree with you to an extent. From what I've seen so far if I only had a 1080p set I'd probably stick with the OG ps4. It'll most likely get better as time goes on. A few friends I have with only 1080p tvs have also said they've noticed a better Picture on some games. For anyone with a 4K HDR tv it's definitely worth it to me.

I am not sure how your tv handles it but in Samsung the hdmi input you use can only offer HDR is you enable the setting called HDMI UHD which has an ON and OFF setting. If you set it to ON then your HDMI input is allowing HDR to display and if you turn the setting OFF then you cant do HDR but the input is still 4K as the tv is 4K

If he turns off the HDMI UHD setting then his input lag numbers in game mode are in the mid 20's which is excellent

If he turns it on then he would get about 45 to 50 ms in input lag when he plays a game that is HDR capable or not capable

So if he knows a game is HDR then turn it on but if the game he is playing is not HDR then turn the HDMI UHD off so you get better input lag numbers

Basically it disables the HDR from that said HDMI input

Its the beauty of this tv and samsung sets
