Could somebody recommend a good DVD player to go along with a HDTV? I watched a lot of movies on my Xbox and I want to cut out watching DVDs on the 360. I don't want to spend more than $100-150.

Re: HDTV Questions and Answer Thread

Just posting this on the off-chance that my previous post on the same got lost in the crowd . . .

In any case, does anyone have any opinion one way or the other on these - as far as I can tell, the top 4 32" LCD flat-panels currently on the market?

 Also:
 1) How can I tell what each of these TVs native resolutions are? I know they're all 1366x728 resolution, but I can't figure out whether they are native 720p, 1080i, or 1080p or what?

 2) Finally, has anyone had any experience ordering from Amazon.com? Their prices are so much better than any stores, I don't know why anyone would do otherwise, but I'm assuming there's some reason.Comment

1366x728 is their native resolution. 720p is, 1280x720.Originally posted by Dmanchild1) How can I tell what each of these TVs native resolutions are? I know they're all 1366x728 resolution, but I can't figure out whether they are native 720p, 1080i, or 1080p or what?

Since the display is not a native HD resolution (close, just a few too many lines of resolution each direction), it will always have to scale the image to 1366x728.Jon

Re: HDTV Questions and Answer Thread

Thanks. I'm still kind of confused though. So, from what you're saying, it would actually be better to have a TV with a native resolution of 1280x720, because then the TV wouldn't have to do any work for the image to come in at 720p? What's 1080i and 1080p, just out of curiosity?Originally posted by jondiehl1366x728 is their native resolution. 720p is, 1280x720.
