Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
So, I have a Sharp 19" LCD, and I just finally realized the lag I have while gaming. Do the Samsung 23" LCD televisions have the same lag?
Also, my TV has a better viewing angle when looking from a bit above the TV than straight on. Again, how does the Samsung compare?
And which is the best Samsung 23" LCD to get? Does anyone know of any stores doing Black Friday deals with this TV? Thanks!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

You want to have under 8ms on the response time, lag will go away. So, I have a Sharp 19" LCD, and I just finally realized the lag I have while gaming. Do the Samsung 23" LCD televisions have the same lag?

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
I think Sony's TVs might be slightly better PQ wise, but definitely not significant enough for the price difference. You truly are paying for the Sony name.
For LCDs, I like Sony and Samsung is a close 2nd. (If buying, pick the Sammy)
For Plasmas, I like Panasonic.
On a budget, go with a Vizio. Slightly less PQ and AQ, but you'll get nearly all the features and inputs as the big boys. AQ is not a even an issue if you gonnna us a home theater set up.Last edited by GAMEC0CK2002; 11-11-2007, 02:17 PM.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Thanks. I noticed this Samsung 23" LCD, and it checks out. Is this one recommended, or are there better Samsung 23" models out there (in terms of picture quality, mostly)? Keep in mind that I'm looking for a black finish.
Also, I read one of the reviews and it said:
Does that mean I get them automatically with just my coax cable and no set-top-box?Picks up six HDTV stations over the air.
Thanks again. Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
I'm leaning towards a LCD, and want either a 46, or 52 inch screen. I've been reading reviews at cnet, and the Sony KDL-46XBR4 tops their list followed by the Samsung LN-T4681.
Get full-length product reviews, the latest news, tech coverage, daily deals, and category deep dives from CNET experts worldwide.

Not sure about the Sammy models. Cnet would bet the place to start your search though.Thanks. I noticed this Samsung 23" LCD, and it checks out. To get OTA (over the air) which are free, you want a TV that has an ATSC tuner inside. NTSC is for regular TV. Just add a regular (or powered) antennna and you're good to go.
This is assuming you're in the vicinity of the HD signals. Go to antennaweb.org to check. Put in your addy and see what it says.
If you're getting HD material from cable or satellite you don't necessarily need a ATSC tuner.Last edited by GAMEC0CK2002; 11-11-2007, 07:02 PM.Comment
