I was really hyped about Legion of Superheroes, but found it to be bad and a poor introduction for someone completely new to the Legionnaires.

Overall I'm really happy to be following comics again!

Deathstroke was a great read..looking forward to reading more.
Has anyone checked out Batwing? The art in there is excellent and the story has potential..

On another note I'm really disappointed with this current Moon Knight run. They turned his internal, dark struggle with Khonshu into some lame copycat of Murdock from the A-Team. Not happy..

In the Perez case it's not too normal as it's probably in reaction to the bad internet press about the first issue. JT Krul is also leaving his book (Green Arrow) after 8 issues I believe with Giffen/Jurgens taking over there as well though in Krul's case it's because he was offered a project that he couldn't turn down and he wants to devote more energy to the Captain Atom book.

I haven't read comics in ages but with the new 52 I decided to try a few out and have enjoyed them. I picked up Action Comics #1, Superman #1, Batman#1, Justice League #1 & Batgirl #1. I tried to get Wonder Women but they were sold out at the time but will try to get it in a second printing. I look forward to the next editions

          I've enjoyed them as well.

I preferred Supergirl, Justice League, Action, and Superboy over Batwoman, Batman and Flash. The Flash is the only one I didn't care for. Of course this may not hold up for the 2nd issue of these titles.

So is Superman in jeans (Action #1) a slightly younger version of the Superman I saw in

Action takes place during Superman's early years so yes.

I've been ultra behind on my reading. I have a stack of comics from the mail man waiting to be read from Amazing Spider-man, Batman and Detective Comics. I need to and plan on getting up on all of this this week.

I just finished up Walking Dead vol 2. Pretty good series so far. Book two seemed a lot more intense with the group dynamic than the first volume. Its interesting to watch plot-lines develop and how much depth there is to the structure of it.

Now I'm just waiting on Scalped 3 & 4 and Walking Dead 3 & 4 to get in at the local shop this week. I really need to finish the Sin City series too. There's just too many TPBs to check out and not enough time, haha.

I got Batman in the mail. Yeah, pretty much loved it. Some of the panels are just masterful in the way that it captures the character of Batman. The story is pretty good, too and I love the focus on the detective, noir side of things. It is funny reading this after The Dark Knight because they share a ton of similarities. Batman definitely hit all of them out of the park while TDK hit a couple and grazed by on the rest. I can't wait for #2.

Action #2: Pretty good but i'm not feeling the ending, normally I would but with Grant Morrison it can get really screwy/weird.

Detective #2 Not quite as good as the first issue but things proceed nicely, BTW it looks like for sure we've seen the "love interest". The cliffhanger to this issue was pretty crazy.

JLI #2: Not bad, The team falls apart due to squabling and Booster Gold''s not quite ready to be leader for such a disparate group but by the end of the issue they come together as the threat becomes larger.

Swamp Thing #2: more status quo building and getting a ton of backstory but it looks like this arc will start revving up soon. The art in this book is quite good.

Red Lanterns #2: LOVE the story in this issue even if it's a done in one story to give people a feel as to who the Red Lantern is but Milligan propels things forward for the next issue pretty well though it almost feels the same as the 1st issue in the way it was structured.

Animal Man #2: I'm still not quite feeling this book as it's a bit weird but some funny bits and the concept is at least interesting.

So Marvel is already building the buzz for their big company wide "event" coming next year. So far Avengers:X-Sanction is the first lead in, where Cable decides he's going after the Avengers to protect the future, like he always does.

I've been really disappointed with Marvel's Universal events lately. I didn't even bother with the Fear Itself theme..Is that worth a look?

The actual core FEAR ITSELF books aren't bad. The Spinoffs vary wildly but I loved the Black Panther tie-in books.

Marvel I think needs to really stop with their universal "earth shaking" events and stick to events that are tied to individual books for instance, Spider-Island is really good in the Spidey area of the MU IMO.

Agreed on that. I mean they JUST finished Schism and now have the X-Men in another universe wide event? way to kill the story you just set up. I personally never liked company wide events. I'd prefer contained stories that have tendrils in the overall company. Not something thats all encompasing. The last one i actually liked was Onslaught.
