Well in the movie Neville after all of his studies say they are completely void of typicsl human behavior, yet they set traps as a human would and did, then turn and they mindlessly bash their skulls against windsheild like glass.

That was Nevilles opinion,I just think that the leader of the darkstalkers lost his MATE to Nevilles trap thats why he stuck his head out contemplating "do I go after her or stay in the shade" and him banging his head against the glass, maybe he was mad cuz he wanted his "girl" back..oh well Rabies makes u do funny things.

To add to the Alpha Male seemingly "studying" Neville as much as Neville was studying the infected...

We see Neville make a little sound with his tongue and teeth that makes Sam run ahead after the deer...

...In the pier scene, with Will in the car, we see the Alpha Male do the same thing to the fellow Dark Seekers around him.

That is one thing about the movie I didn't like. How could the virus make their bones stronger or give them the leaping ability?

I mean they did say the virus was a gene therapy thing, but ehhh that seems a bit weak.

Their adrenal glands were always open so they would be able to do alot more than a normal human.

I really enjoyed the movie. Will Smith gave a tremendous performance. I had A LOT of questions though and thankfully this thread has answered most of them. Great discussion guys.

However, I didn't think the director did a good enough job explaining the Alpha male character though. His actions and his seemingly higher intelligence than the rest(He was the only one who showed strategic thinking). I guess we're left to assume that with any colony, be it animal or human, Alpha males and females are naturally selected???

Another theory is, perhaps he was a former soldier and that is why he was able to spring that trap????

The blast would of killed him anyway if he was behind the glass more then likely but i dont get is why he doesnt take out the ring, throw it, get in the fireplace with ana and ethan. I dont blame him for not doing this considering he was going insane during the end of the movie and pretty much i think he wanted to die defending it

Isn't it possible that was a grenade that explodes immediately upon release of the trigger? I believe there are grenades that one the pin is removed will explode immediately upon release after a certain duration of time.

I saw the head of the thing move. That's what had me thinking that it was a dark seeker honestly. I thought it put on some makeup or something to prevent it from burning. When the head moved, all I could think about was that Will was done cause they could walk during the day.

Never noticed that. I'm so going to watch the dvd when it comes out. What would be interesting if they had some type of movie that follows a dark seeker during the same events. Crazy how much deeper this movie is getting.

I thought that it was a pretty good movie. The ending was meh, but overall it was an enjoyable experience. The scene with Samantha was awful to watch.

I wish they would have given us more in-depth character information, and more actual background to the story. Example: Who is Robert Neville, and what is his relationship with the girl from TV?

The acting in the film (by Will) was absolute amazing. Will Smith is an amazing actor, I love just about every movie he's ever been a part of. His performance in this movie is right up there with The Pursuit of Happyness. Definitely in my top five actors of all time.

The woman and her son were virtually useless characters. Their only purpose was getting the cure to the Vermont town, and getting Neville back to his house. The son was an absolute waste of a character.

If it weren't for the shotty ending, I'd give this movie an A+. The ending wasn't "awful" but it could have been a lot better. I wish the movie was about another hour or so longer. They could have given us a better ending and added a lot more actual story.

I saw it last night. Pretty good, but I have no idea where the budget for the movie went to - I thought it had some major money to use since I thought I heard the "bridge" scene was one of the most expensive shots to shoot. It was cool as hell to see an empty NYC and while we got to see exactly how gone Robert Neville was, there were a lot of holes in the story/questions left unanswered regarding Kimpin, what exactly happened with the "cure" etc.

I have a notion to go pick up Omega Man on HD-DVD.

This movie was awesome! It was just a little scary, only because it was quiet then BOOM!, infected people pop up.
