"on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Hearing it from other people on here, you'd think it's the best damn picture you'll ever see on your screen.

While this is correct, I don't know if I have yet to see a Warner picture that has not been touched after its Blu-ray release, perhaps to extenuate what they think are faults or soft spots on the screen. I just think they're ruining the picture.

Now, this could be a reference title, and I wouldn't know it (basically, untouched and a clean digital transfer). I saw a pre-screening of this movie, so I don't know if there were more touch-ups after, but the grain that I saw at the pre-screening versus what I see on the Blu-ray are different in that the BD has more grain. So, while the director had some grain in it, I don't think it was nearly this bad.

In other news, Amazon is having a Buy 2, Get 1 Free Blu-ray sale:

      http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000324041

Unfortunately, everything I want I either already have or isn't on the list. I have my eye on Disturbia (sold my DVD and need to re-buy the BD) and Mr. Brooks (though at $28), but I need to find a third movie. I have yet to see Vantage Point, but that could be a potential third. I could get Rush Hour 3, but I sort of want to wait on the first two getting a BD release, that way they'll probably come in a trilogy pack for a wee-bit cheaper as well. And finally, I own Click on DVD but wasn't planning on swapping it out for the BD, but it's on the list, so I could very well take advantage of it.

Guess I should start by watching Vantage Point.

LOL, in reading through the list of the movies on sale (which always makes me laugh as Amazon raises their prices for the deal every single time, making it much less of a deal than it really is, but anyway), I had no idea that Faces of Death was released on Blu-ray. LOL Who in the hell would buy that?!

While this is true, it's still beneficial. Let's say that I went with Mr. Brooks ($27.95), Rush Hour 3 ($23.95), and Disturbia ($20.95, which would be the free movie), I only pay $51.90, when finding the cheapest deals through retail stores would get me at Mr. Brooks for $25.86, Rush Hour 3 for $17.99, and Disturbia for $19.86, which totals to $64.71. I still save $13, which can be put towards The Descent ($13.99 at Target).

Yeah, but you're comparing apples to oranges.

All three of those movies were well under $20 pre-sale and pre-Christmas. I saw Rush Hour 3 for 13.99 one day. So it's all when you catch the deals.

I suppose. I mean, I couldn't find Mr. Brooks for that cheap anywhere, otherwise I would have been on it the second I saw it under $20. However, I hadn't yet sold Disturbia, and I guess I'm still not looking to buy Rush Hour 3 instantly. I just used it as an example because it was a rather expensive movie listed for such a cheap retail price.

Blzer The Entertainer, '300' was intended to be filmed that way. It was the same in the theater (saw it there twice) and the same on both HD DVD/BD. The film was always intended to look that way, so that is why it gets almost perfect picture nod.

No no, I understand. And like I said, I saw plenty of grain when I saw it, just not that much. Again, it could simply be the screen I saw it on or something, I'm not sure. Maybe I just misremember, but I was rather mesmerized when I first was watching it, also. I could have perhaps just got so caught up in the film that it wasn't distracting like my first BD view (this was the first one I got, along with The Departed, which I was glad after my initial disappointment of Blu-ray just being a "grainy mess").

I'm not trying to stir up arguments again. I'm all for artistic intent. IMO there is a line that shouldn't be crossed in regard to how much, but I'm still for it regardless. I believe they have the correct mindset in how they want to hit home with how the film is supposed to be viewed and in what kinds of conditions. Grain is a part of cinema, always has been and probably always will be. Artistic grain is a personal choice that I respect. I just remember it being much more apparent my first BD viewing than I did my first theatrical viewing.

Yes. www.inetvideo.com is a good place to look. Right now, they have 45 blu ray titles at $12.99 or less including the Kill Bills. Rush Hour 3 is $9.99. Would be pretty easy reaching the $49 minimum for free shipping.

I was cruising through that Buy 2 Get 1 Free Amazon list on Monday and going back through now, the prices are at least 5 bucks higher across the board. Not a very good selection either.

Anyway, been watching Band of Brothers (amazing) the past couple of nights. I watched Shinobi this past weekend. Beautiful film - some amazing landscape scenes and pretty cool fighting sequences. If anybody is into martial arts films, I recommend it. Its basically Romeo & Juliet with Ninjas. I got it for 12 bucks off Amazon - not sure if thats still the price, but it was definitely worth 12 bucks.

I'm getting Enter the Dragon and House of Flying Daggers in the mail tomorrow. All the films I own on Blu-Ray are martial arts films, with the exception of TDK.

Circuit City had a couple of the Bond movies on sale last week, so I picked up From Russia With Love.

I watched The House of Flying Daggers last night. Pretty good film. Not quite as good as Hero, but some pretty cool fight sequences and all the colors look great in HD.

They are quite good. Ordered from them at least 5 times. Only worth it when they have the free shipping on $49+ orders. Otherwise, the shipping kills the deal.

Fully recommend if you they are offering free shipping.
