Yeah, I have the Sony 550, love it. I get better picture (IMO) and sound out of it. Plus like Gears said, the load times are identical now, if not faster on my Sony.

If you could elaborate on this one, please? I normally fall asleep to a good movie on PS3 (set the sleep timer for an hour).

I have read a lot of PS3 drives burning out on other AV forums by people continuously using the machine just for movies (DVD and Blu). Nothing to be alarmed by, but I have never been one to watch my movies on a game machine. But that is just me.

Yes, a few weeks ago. This movie is excellent and just don't go in expecting a squeaky clean transfer, its intended to be gritty.

Thanks Joe, this film is well worth picking up. I first saw this on Fearnet, good stuff.

Well...with money being tight, and a general lack of intersest, I'm done with buying Blu-rays. I'll still pick up the major releases (Pinocchio, Watchmen, Transformers 2, Up) but swapping my old DVD collection over has taken a back seat. Heck, my Oppo 981 looks good enough, and even with a clean look, I really fail to see the point of buying all these 15+ year movies again.

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Both Pacino and DeNiro are not what they used to be talent wise imo. These last few years, they have been taking way too many roles that don't fit their styles. Plus the story has been rehashed way too many times.

                          My take:

I'm with ya. Only catalog titles I'll really replace now are the Star Wars movies, Armageddon, Se7en and maybe some other bigger titles that I can't think of right off the top of my head.

Friday the 13th is something I'd love to have the whole series on Blu-ray but not counting on it ever happening. The release of the original Friday proved that to me with their complete screw up of the framing of the film. I'll just stick with my regular DVD's I guess. LOL

That is huge, I have no idea how in the world Paramount messed that up.

Anyone seen the blu ray version of Passion of the Christ? I saw it for $29.xx at Walmart but haven't seen any reviews. Pretty sure I want to buy it once the price goes down some.
