Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Thats not true about Wayne, No ceilings was a good mixtape...
The rock album was an experiment(as he said in one of his mixtapes way before the album was thought of...
He's gonna do another Carter album, but I dont know if it would be good as Carter 1/2 or mainstream as Carter 3....
The purple stuff may have slurd his words, but dude dont even write his own stuff and he's a bad freestyler, so I kno its not off the top while he's in the both(like big and Jay)Comment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
On an All City Chess Club note, J. Cole has a song that is said to be his first single called "Who Dat?" On it, in the third verse, he directs some not so nice comments to an unacknowledged individual who may or may not be Drake.
Personally, I would love if he were talking about Drake. I can't stand all the nut riding he gets when he's not even that great. I mean, he's alright, better than most mainstream rappers, which is something to be proud of... I guess... But his music isn't appealing. Subject matter and substance is old and tired, IMO. And he, as well as the rest of Young Money, use that same stupid punchline formula that annoys the hell out of me. They say a line then just throw out a word that relates to that line without connecting it with the line. That's just lazy. "When I'm in the club, you know I bald; chemo." "Just keep coming off the top; asbestos" and my favorite "I see me with her; no Stevie Wonder"
Take that and then drop the beat when you say it and all of a sudden, it gets quoted on Facebook status updates and Tweets all across the land. Young Money heavily relays on dropping the beat to try and augment their mediocre punchlines. Listen to Bed Rock's instrumental. You would think you're listening to a 10 second song on repeat.
Hopefully Drake bites and this starts an all out war between Young Money and All City Chess Club. It's like the nerds vs popular kids who peak in high school and will never amount to anything in the future.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Yeah, I noticed that bull****, too.
"*****, I'm da bomb like tick-tick."
"Confidence is a stain they can't wipe off"
"Girl, I gotta watch my back, cuz I'm not just anybody."
ZERO substance in or around the line, just lame *** one-liners. And then mainstream groupies worship it to death.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread
Yeeap, that's a mainstream groupie for ya. One of my best friends and I got into an argument when he said Wayne (now) goes harder than Em.
His reasoning? He hates Em because he's some 'suicidal white kid', and he has Wayne's 'back'. I told him one of Wayne's line from the "Forever" remix, and he said it was stupid, but when I told him that was Wayne's line and not Em's, all of a sudden it was gold. Em talks about personal ish and his ish is deep, and that's some 'suicidal ****', but Wayne raps about nothing of substance, and he's the hottest.
Friends like yours are the type of people that think just because you're mainstream and all your songs play at the club, you're the 'hottest' or best rapper out. I guarantee you people will say Gucci Mane is the best out right now since Wayne's gone.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Personally, my dislike for Gucci is sky-high, so I would actually put him right in that group. Could just be me though, but I think he's one of the worst out there.Comment
