The cases now, ones that involve a villain or monster of the week, are really just there to facilitate the characters'(and us the viewers) awareness of how much they have grown and/or changed as a result of the events of the main narrative.

I know I said last week that I'm beginning to not care about the cases, but after last night's episode, I'm back into them. *** ****, this show is fantastic. I also loved Walter's line, "You mean assuming creating a flying porcupine human hybrid wasn't his end goal." I think Walter is hands down my favorite character.

On another note, I'm not sure the fight for a fifth season could be going any better. Twitter is really showing its support with the weekly hashtags and Fox is gonna start using that concept for other shows. I've definitely got my hopes up now.

It was interesting, and I'm guessing it will fit into the upcoming showdown with DRJ trying to fuse universes (looked like the future was a fused universe).

Right now it looks like that episode was not shown in order or had nothing to do with the current story. Hopefully they tie it in. The Etta thing was very obvious, they were hinting at it the whole time.

Of course it didn't. It took place in another year.

But that was the point. I'm sure they'll stick to this time and once we find out why exactly they are showing this to us, we will see how it affects the present.

It's a Lost move and I like it.

Really enjoyed the opening sequence with the goals for mankind being things like rights and freedom.

Pretty much this episode was Fringe's "The Constant".. Even Desmond was in it for good measure.

Nina Sharp to "Dez"- "Of course you understand the risks of wanting to save the world" Yeah I still miss Lost.

Etta thing was obvious because the casting was so perfect.. Forget that she looks related to Anna Torv anyway..From the way she spoke to even the way she walked, just perfect casting.

The moment she says she lost her parents and can't even remember their faces, it was like a Ron Artest elbow to the head.

I thought it would drag out a bit. Though I'm curious, where is Olivia?

And agreed this was their Constant. That was my immediate thought during the episode. This is The Constant.

I was wondering why she wasn't in the amber like the rest of them. They said the whole team disappeared, did they just not show her there or had she already died?
