    Despicable Me 2
I liked this one alot. Very light hearted humor. I enjoyed Kristen Wig's character as well as the Luchador villain. Fun movie anybody can enjoy really. You can tell Steve Carrel really enjoyed working on this film.

    Iron Man 3
I loved the twist there. Caught me way off guard and it was refreshing in a funny way. The million suits thing kinda got tired there. But I enjoyed seeing both worlds of Stark, him in the suit and him having to solve his issues without the suit. However the head honcho antagonist was pretty lame to me.

    The Hunger Games Catching Fire
It took me a bit to get into the setting. It just annoyed me how the society was constructed but I guess that was the point. Not really liking the love triangle thing that all these teen movies seem to enjoy doing but hey what can you do. The ending of this one felt abrupt and kinda disconnected but again, that was the point. Really blindside the audience even though you kinda sorta shoulda saw it coming.

    EDIT

    Thor 2
I don't really know what to feel about this one. It felt generic comic book movie like to me. Thor continues to be portrayed as a boring meathead. Loki stole the show yet again. Kat Dennings is still cute as ****. Its completely ok if you skipped this one. I did like it better than the first. So theres that. I will give the credit that this movie didn't fall into having the whole thing take place on earth. It was smart to have a huge chunk happen in asgard and other realms in the lore rather than have all the action take place on earth.

    Pain and Gain
The performances were good. I thought all the three main ugh protagonists? were great at what they were given. Monk was awesome. That said, i think the story failed to give any single likeable character. I didnt know if I was suppose to hope they got away with the crimes or got caught because these guys were completely devoid of morality. It was so bad that during the end monologue when Wahlberg is telling us about the american dream yadda yadda I was thinking to myself "you tortured and murdered multiple people because a normal life wasnt enough for you". I almost burst out laughing at how ridiculous the monologue was considering what he had jsut done, which Im pretty sure was done on purpose. You get no sympathy there haha. But apparently this was based on a true story and well, the true story is also lacking in any characters to like. Even the victims were dicks haha. Oh and the Rock was awesome.

I liked Pain and Gain myself. Pretty much anything with Wahlberg is at least decent.

Catching up on the movies I've seen lately.

Fight Club: 9/10. An all-timer. Just a really well done movie and I hear it's better after a few viewings because you pick up on all the things. I knew about the twist ahead of time, but I can just imagine how big of a mind **** it had to be at the time.

RoboCop: 6/10. It was cool. Predictable. I'll never see it again. Gary Oldman is better than this.

          About Last Night
: 6/10. I'm over Kevin Hart. Everyone else did a good job. Prototypical RomCom.

American Psycho: 7/10. Weird movie. Still not sure what the ending meant. I enjoyed the ride though. Will have to watch again.

Friday (Rewatch): GOAT hood movie. I've seen it 1000x and it just never gets old.

Just watched the American remake of Oldboy. I loved the original Korean version but I actually like the remake more. I don't understand the hate it received I thought it was just as good as the original or even better.

Probably because it was missing 2 of the iconic scenes. At least that was for me... I was waiting on something on par with the squid or tongue cutting scene. I thought it was good as well. I liked how they did away with the hypnotist aspect. Made it more believable for me

My Oscar movie challenge went horribly. School started, so 15 credit hours combined with working full time killed any free time I had. So this week I'm gonna knock out the four remaining best picture noms, and the other two I have for the major 8 awards.

I've been going through the Best Picture nominations (Just have Dallas Buyers Club, Nebraska and Philomena left...though I have very little interest in watching the last two).

Just finished Wolf of Wall Street. That's my favorite movie on the year, unless Dallas Buyers Club is absolutely amazing. Leo just cemented himself as an all-timer for me. He is absolutely amazing. Marty continues to hit HRs for me every time. The supporting cast, Jonah Hill and Kyle Chandler above all, were spot on. And Margot Robbie...Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.

My Best Picture rankings: Wolf, 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Gravity. Based on the reviews, I'm expecting DBC to land before or after American Hustle.

I watched the most recent Wolverine movie. It's up there right behind X-men 2 in the Marvel setting movies. Excellent superhero movie.

Also watched Prisoners. Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman are superb. Why hadn't I heard about this flick? It was really good. The premise had me squirming a bit but it's obviously needed for the suspense.

I went into Philomena thinking the same thing, but I actually really enjoyed it. I thought Steve Coogan was great in it. The story wasn't something I thought I would be interested in going in, but the interactions between Coogan and Judi Dench are really good.

DeCaprio is without a doubt the best of all the "young" actors.

I enjoyed Wolf of Wall Street a lot. It gets bonus points for some good lines from Coach Taylor. I kinda zoned out some of it though so looking forward to a 2nd viewing sometime.

Wish there was some good comedies coming out on DVD.

Next up for me and the wife with no new comedies is Captain Phillips. We watched Bad Grandpa and turned it off half way
