Its like a thread being titled, "Whats the Best Football Game You've Ever Seen" and you reply "I don't watch football." What is the point?

Obviously, some of yall's reading comprehension failed.

Pretty much. Who goes into a thread about a subject just to say they have nothing to add about the subject? Really stupid and pointless.

Darryl Kile. He was an ace for the Cardinals, a family man and a classy guy. I cried like a baby that day and many after.

he's not, he is a dad to his own children as am I and it reminds me of my own dads' passing just over a year ago.

O I C, but I still can't equate MJ's loss as a dad relating to anyone losing their own dad, even of a similar age. Other than Hollywood dads who have the reputation of having been a true dad, it would be hard to relate. IDK how we have any idea what type of dad MJ was (and I'm not even considering the baby over the bannister incident... though that was wacky). I would see it as you need to know how the person acted in that role.

Bad analogy. We're just stating we think it is silly to have a celebrity's death affect you (unless you know said celebrity). Just because we don't have an opinion you agree with doesn't mean we can't state our own opinion.

You expected some "none" responses in your first post, so deal with it.

So unless your trying to take the thread off topic, let people talk about celebrities. If your answer was none, why post? We wanted to know specific deaths that bothered you. You dont have any? Then you have nothing to say in the thread.

Btw the TOS should remind you this isnt free speech. Its a message board didnt you notice the infractions for people stating thier "OPINIONS" on michael? So no just because you think you have something to say doesnt mean it should be said or anyone wants to hear it.
lol so people can't have differing opinions? That's like me starting a thread, "Who thinks Aaron Rodgers is the best qb in the league"? and people responded he isn't and me saying there derailing the thread by not agreeing.....

Layne Staley was the closest I ever came to being affected at all. Move along.

It's nothing like that. It's like a thread asking people to name their favorite ice cream with people just dropping to say "I don't like ice cream". Well, it's not a "Do you like ice cream?" thread, it's a "For all of you ice cream lovers, what is your favorite?" thread.

Po Pimp said it best, if there's a thread saying "What's your favorite football team" thread, it's pretty idiotic to jump into a discussion just to say you don't watch football.

It's a great analogy, it just takes a certain level of reading comprehension. This isn't a "Do any celebrity deaths affect you?" thread, it's asking people who have been affected which ones were they affected by. Do you understand now?

It's not about you having a differing opinion, it's about you adding zero to the thread, get it? This thread isn't asking for your opinions or your judgements. You're basically coming into the thread with the intent to let us know you have nothing to offer. Well, that and that you and everyone else who hasn't been affected by a celebrities death think that everyone who has is silly.

                      Move along.

If the thread was DO YOU get affected then i care. He wanted to know specific people you cared about, if you have none, no reason to be here. Its not differing opinions its talking about peoples death and how they felt. If you cant understand that, its not my problem. Your example was terrible.

See you keep taking shots by saying its silly to be affected and people are being sensitve. Why did you feel the need to post in the thread? Did you want to start a debabte about whether people should care?

I think its silly you waste your time posting in a thread about something that doesnt bother you.

The title of the thread is, Celebrities who's death affected you.

What is wrong with people answering that question even if the answer is none?

I agree with you that others shouldn't come in and say it's silly, but if you start a thread with a question, why can't anyone post their own answer?

AHHH the wonderful grey area. "None" didnt bother me but at the same time, why post it. It does answer the question, but not as the op intended.

Because the OP has made it obvious that he's not asking how many/ Let's just use another example here. Look at the Favorite Guitar Solos thread. Go count how many "none" posts there are? Go count them in the "What are your favorite bands" thread. The people there understand pretty clearly that the OP is asking people who have favorites to list them.

Here the OP is clearly asking people who were affected by celebrity deaths to list them, but for some reason other people don't/can't understand that.

Fair enough, to me it just doesn't seem like a problem to have people come in here and post one thread giving their opinion on the question at hand. Oh well.

But as far as the question goes, I mainly have been affected by the deaths of the athletes who die extremely suddenly and out of nowhere (not that it doesn't happen to other celebrities, just seems like the athletes affect me more because they are on a field in great shape one day, gone the next.)

I know Nick Adenhart and Darryl Kile have been mentioned but to add to that, Corey Lidle's death was tough too.
