As much as I love TMNT, I'm passing on this. Nothing beats the original cartoon and first two live action movies in my opinion. I have been completely disappointed with anything TMNT since the previously mentioned.

This thing was doomed to be ragged on the day Bay's named was attached to it. Can't say the initial reaction is surprising.
I've never really liked her outside of muted eye-candy. Honestly, I thought the first April was adequate, but we'll see how the character actually is.

        I liked it.

The only thing I would have liked is:

April O'Neill should be more brunette! And have a yellow costume!! I don't care who plays the character, they need to look like the old school April.

They need the old Michelangelo voice.. This new one sounds way too serious. They need the one from TMNT2 that sounds goofy.. "A little too Raph.."

Yeah leave the serious for Raph and Leo. I like the comedic duo of Don and Mikey.

One of my favorites was Casey & Don going through the alphabet in insults while fixing the old truck at April's farmhouse. GAK FACE

            They patched things up.

Bay is directing the fourth Transformers and Fox is back in that one as well.

Yup, I just don't get why people hold this franchise in such high esteem that they would have high standards for it in the first place.

I would say that some people don't like to see their childhood destroyed for a money grab. Especially when it is so far removed from what made the first two movies so great.

Not directed at you but in general I find this sort of comment so silly in entertainment.

The old product is still there. Nothing is being ruined.

I can understand if somehow they destroyed the old comics and cartoon and old films and they could never be watched again. Yeah, that would be destroying your childhood.

This movie? It's just another version of a story that no one has to watch or even care about if they don't want to.

Just silly to me to always read this sort of argument against anything in entertainment.

I see what you're saying and probably agree with you. There was a little hyperbole there for sure. My comment was meant to be read in conjunction with the second half of that sentence. And really it's not even directed at this movie in particular. They've pretty much butchered everything in this franchise since the 3rd movie was released.

Pretty disappointing and I will most definitely be ignoring it.

The butchering of the franchise, I totally get. If the product doesn't match what people loved about it, sure, it's a mess unless there's some value in changing it.

But changing it just to change it only angers people.

Childhood destroyed? Lmao. A remake of a movie from a cartoon made in the 80s destroys your guy's childhood?

I see Turtles kicking ***, Michaelangelo making a goofy joke, and a hot chic who I hope is wearing skimpy clothing or topless in the movie. I'm good.

The whole thing was a money grab to begin with. They didn't create the show and movies simply for your enjoyment, they made it to push toys to children. If you love those movies so much, then go watch them instead of the new movie. How in the world does someone making a new movie "destroy your childhood"? I also have no idea what you're seeing that suggests that they're taking away what made the movies "great".

I'm not going to pay to see this. Will I see it eventually either in the Movies or at the Barber Shop on TV? Most likely because I'm a Turtle Mark so yeah.

Regarding the whole "ruining the childhood" aspect. I could see that if this was the only real interpretation of the Turtles that you're getting but it's not. The cartoon on Nick right now is very good, abelt aimed at kids. The comic book is AWESOME and has taken a little bit here and there from every iteration of the TMNT franchise. I've been reading the current comic and am enjoying it immensely so if this movie falls way below expectations I can just go back to the comics.

BTW the TMNT were not originally created to push toys at kids. Eastman and Laird created TMNT as a parody of Frank Miller's Daredevil comics and eventually the corporate people got wind of this little underground comic and decided to throw money at them to make a cartoon and other such properties.
