The problem is not crazy wide spread but I'd get another 8500 to avoid even possibly getting one that has it..

Buy a Squaretrade warranty if you're worried much about it

I'm surprised they still make curved sets. Do people really prefer them?

Have the Samsung KU6300 and when I'm trying to watch the MLB Extra Innings Game Mix (multiple games on one channel) channel on DirecTV, sometimes the picture in individual games will stutter. Is this something that's a TV/setting thing or a DirecTV thing? I don't think I had this problem on my (much) older 720p TV.

Hard to figure out just what settings work the best for different content. Kinda sick of switching from mode to mode to be honest, lol.

Me neither, save for when I walk in the room and see the curve and think "damn that looks bad@ss!"

That's a DIRECTV issue, not a tv issue

For sure? The image stutters quite a bit as if the TV can't process it then it straightens out fairly quickly. Noticeable during a pitcher's delivery, for example.

The KS8000 is definitely a great TV for movies, even better than my old Pioneer 427.
Not completely sold on the gaming performance but it's functional.

$1000 is a fair price point in my opinion although I paid a little more for mine.

It's actually one of the best, if not the best, tv for gaming. If anything it's better for gaming than movies, there are many other sets such as the LG B6 better for movies than the KS8000.

Bought it jus for gaming, love the 8500, got a 5yr warranty on 8000. Supposedly the 2017 model isn't as good as the 2016.
Im done with TV' s now, im buying the Scorpio, then prolly wont be purchasing anymore electronics for a while

The B6 was way more expensive & not significantly better for the extra cash.
The Samsung does a great job with movies in my opinion but the much talked about game mode doesn't perform anywhere near as good as I thought it was going to.
HDR is only apparent with the backlight maxed out but with this comes excessive light bloom on neons & whites with an unrealistic colour range.
If you reduce backlight it improves alot but HDR is starting to get lost.

Sorry but the KS8000 doesn't hit anywhere near the black levels the B6 can. There's a reason the B6 was rated the 2016 Best TV on the market.
