I had the same itch, but replacing a KU6300, but to be honest, I can't fit anything bigger than a 60" in my space, and I'd rather game on a 32" monitor upstairs now anyways.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

We'll the wife says it's okay to upgrade the living room/theater room TV.

It was a toss up between the Sony 950G or the Sony A8G.

I love LED FALD TV's, but have been warming up the OLED. So I'm gonna jump on the A8G.

I'm getting a real nice deal for a 65 inch.

        $1,850 plus tax.

Scott, anything you want to add about my decision

Kinda hard to go back to LED/LCD after getting my OLED in the bedroom. Once you experience these black levels it’s hard to go back. I’m getting a C9 for Black Friday as well for the living room and getting rid of my KS8000.

I'm debating my new TV, I was hoping for a 75" but what would you chose in this situation?

Do not do the 7100, in all honesty, it's a terrible TV for sports and movies.

Good to know. Is there anything you'd suggest around that price range? Like QLED link I gave? Or Samsung UN75RU8000FXZA

If you said around $1200, I'd probably do this instead 75" RU8000, but if you were doing a 65" in that same price range, I'd definitely do Sony X900F or if you expanded the budget to say $1700, the Samsung Q80.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

So far really liking this set. Man the black levels are just stunning. The contrast is good. Not LED good, but good enough.

Colors out of the box are really good. Motion and Picture processing look really good. Better than I expected.

I have a Shield TV, and that's my go to Android TV Experience. I appreciated the TV having it, but I will more than likely not being using it.p

Haven't games on it yet. Will game some over the Thanksgiving weekend and see how that looks.

Well, my KS8000 took a crap tonight. From a few internet searches, it seems like it's a common issue. It's just under 3 years old so obviously, no warranty and I can't remember if I bought a protection plan.

So I guess I'm in the market for a new tv... Scott, what 55" would you suggest? I'm not looking to spend over $1500. Also, this TV is my "video game TV" so I need something that plays games well.

... In the meantime, I'll probably see about getting the KS800 fixed and if I can, then shuffle my other TV's around. I've been thinking about upgrading them for a while anyway so I guess this is just fate's way of telling me now is the time.
