Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
Did venom ever have his own stand-alone comics/storylines that would be worthy of their own movies? Like his own stuff to deal with, outside of Spider-Man?

After Batman, Venom is my favorite character. However, by Venom I mean Eddie Brock and in order to create Venom you need Parker\Spider-man. That is the foundation behind the two characters (Brock and the symbiote). Unless the movie begins after the events of the creation of Venom.
The funny thing is people mentioned Life is the prequel to Venom. lolComment

Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
Yeah that's the only thin I could think of, to the first point
And yeah, I liked "Life" a lot but the Venom theory is ridiculous. No idea how that started
Edit: I wrote this to literally say that I had no clue where the rumor started. I didn't hear the rumor until after I had seen Life. I wasn't trying to fault people for believing the rumor. I honestly didn't know where it came from.
For the record, this isn't a spoiler. Venom has absolutely nothing to do with Life and you can tell that just by watching the trailer. Nothing to do with that movie. When you see it, you will understand further

I am all for a Carnage cameo at end to lead to a prequel.Comment

Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
However, the trailer for Life is exactly how it started - since it recycled a scene from Spider-Man 3.
The writers of Life also didn't deny that the two are connected, instead saying "It's an interesting theory," which didn't help the rumors.Comment

Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
Venom has his own series in the comics so I'm certain they have the stories to draw from to have a Sony Pictures Marvel universe. My issue is that Venom is a pretty big Spider-Man villain who's very origin is tied directly to both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. You've gone to Disney and allowed them to fix Spider-Man for you with what's shaping up to be the character done right in the MCU. So why in the hell would you then turn around and make the kind of stupid decision that made the Disney deal possible in the first place? If you want to have Venom be the start of your own little universe, why wouldn't you run him through a Spidey movie first and at least have him connected to Spider-Man? It's just terrible decision making imo

Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
Peter's friend (not sure of the character name) seems like he's gonna be some nice comic relief in the film. At first I was worried this trailer maybe showed too much but something tells me it's gonna have a lot of fun moments and surprises for us when it hits theaters. Can't wait"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Spider-Man: Homecoming
Really cannot wait for this movie. Got a good feeling it's gonna be the best Spidey movie yet.
