Mike and Mike will be ending later this year. Greenberg is getting his own show where he'll have different co-hosts. Golic is starting a new show with his son and Trey Wingo this fall.

Must be nice to have a famous father you can ride the coattails of. Okay, I admit I don't know anything about Golic's kid but still, this reeks of nepotism.

            Played at Notre Dame.

Had about the same success in the NFL as his dad did.

Has filled in on Mike and Mike multiple times and has worked with ESPN for a little over a year.

Sure, his dad's success got him in the door but his pedigree is no different than many other ESPN personalities and it's not like he's getting his first job as an adult.

Not exactly what I would consider nepotism.

Damn, the son moved up real quick based on what I've read about him.

I'd call the same success in the NFL as his dad quite the stretch.

His son barely made rosters, bouncing around while papa Mike was in the league for multiple years and actually had statistics.

The father is a nice guy and the son is... okay on the radio. But yes, I personally would call it riding coat tails.

I prefer Golic's son much more to him. He's been on Russillo and Kanell a few times and I've enjoyed listening to him.

I should add the younger Golic is only on the first hour of the show. I forgot to mention that before.

I'm pretty sure ESPN was his first broadcasting job. I have a hard time believing that is the norm for a guy that was never an established athlete in his sport.

As a complete aside I like his Sunday show with Stugotz

I actually enjoy Golic Jr, I love when he fills in on his dad's show.
Sounds like most people like him but are questioning him getting the job.???.

Idc how he got there, but he holds his own whenever he's on a show. I enjoy anytime he stands in for someone on a radio show. Disappointed it's not him and Russillo pairing up, though.

I like him as well, I just think he was given opportunities that people with similar resumes would not, but such is life. He was guest co-hosting the most popular sports radio show in the country at like 24.

I'm not going to kid myself, a lot of it is just envy, but like I said I do enjoy most of his stuff.

There's plenty of old school guys left, I don't mind that, and I like a medley of both. I still like some traditional stats, but I embrace some of the saber metrics too. I like a balance. I don't think RBI'S and Wins are completely meaningless. I just think its flawed. As are many saber metrics.
