Re: Your opinions in Music that many would disagree with
That's no surprise. Nashville pretty much denied Johnny Cash's existence when he started working with Rick Rubin. Cash's American albums are some of the best country albums you'll ever hear, imo...Originally posted by ActLikeYouKnow8

Re: Your opinions in Music that many would disagree with
I tried to avoid jumping in, but:
- Radiohead, Eminem, The Beastie Boys, Janis Joplin, and new-Metallica are overrated
- Bubba Sparxxx is underrated
- Emo music is horrible
- 50% of rock, country, and rap/r&b music is utter crap.
- 25% of rock, country, and rap/r&b music is average.
- 15% of rock, country, and rap/r&b music is better than average.
- 10% of rock, country, and rap/r&b music is good.Comment

Yup.Bubba Sparxxx is underratedOriginally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Are we talking about the same album in which she has a track that she ripped from "Fiddler on the Roof" and a track that she goes all spelling bee on our asses and spells that oh so difficult word "bananas?" No thanks.Originally posted by 3rdAnswerGwen Stefani's new album is one of the best all-around albums of All-Time

Read it again s-l-o-w-l-y. It was plain English. I expressed an opinion about music that others would disagree with: just as this thread's subject matter called for. What don't you understand?Originally posted by jmood88What in the world did you say?Comment

What don't you understand? That statement makes no sense at all.How I know many disagree with this notion is the fact that there are thousands of millionares in this country that have made it big by rapping, not singing.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Ok I get it now. I had to change the "how" into "now" and I had to add "the reason why" before "many disagree".Originally posted by camulosHe's saying that he knows many disagree because rap is so popular.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Oh yeah, nobody thinks that rap is good because it sells. That's a pretty ignorant thing to say and whoever told you that that is the reason for why people like rap is an idiot.Originally posted by Dark_Lord_VaderRead it again s-l-o-w-l-y. Re: Your opinions in Music that many would disagree with
It is. It takes talent to be able to carry a tune, not be flat, not be sharp, have a dynamic range, and keep an appropriate rhythm and tempo. Why do you think a person like Celine Dion is rich beyond her wildest dreams? It is because she knows how to sing and do all the things I mentioned above. People value great singers. Otherwise they would not buy their music.Originally posted by spacefunkYou act like singing is something special.
So are rappers. Let me ask you a question. In your opinion, does it take more talent to sing, or talent to rap?Originally posted by spacefunkI'm by no means a rap apologist but singers are a dime a dozen.
True. This is also why some people make their career WRITING songs for people who CAN sing. Not every singer must be a writer too in order to be respected.Originally posted by spacefunkJust because someone can sing doesn't mean they make good music.
I guess I am not understanding what your point is with this one. Are you saying that it is a NEGATIVE that someone relies on their talented voice to make a song great? Please explain.Originally posted by spacefunkIn fact, too many singers depend solely on their voice and are backed up by little, if any, musical accompaniment.Comment

Re: Your opinions in Music that many would disagree with
I agree. Same thing with that Tupac guy and the big, fat rapper guy…what the hell was his name…Notorious F-A-T or something like that. Croaking was the best thing for their popularity too. As a matter of fact, I did not hear of either one of them until they made the news with their early departure from earth.Originally posted by JisticNirvana/Kurt Cobain were so over rated it's sickening. Had he not died that band would've faded away like Pearl Jam and nobody would've cared. Dieing is great for business in music.
It's gonna suck when Bob Dillon dies. He will start getting a TON of publicity, falsely claiming that he actually had talent to begin with too!Comment
