Re: Your opinions in Music that many would disagree with
Originally posted by Clay_OS) with Cobain, he wouldn't have been a three album (bleach, Nevermind, In Utero) wonder. You could tell by listening to In Utero how much his song writing had matured. He was slowly tryinig to do what his favourite group (the beatles) have done, tried different ways to express himself musically. I firmly believe Cobain hated the term "grunge" and he wanted his music to evolve into something like the beatles. You can't really define the style of music that the beatles created, Cobain wanted to do the same. He just had to take the easy way out...I also think Lennon was a prick the way he talked **** about the beatles after Abbey Road.

There's no such thing as grunge.
Nobody "killed rock" except for corporations.
Andy Wood/Mother Love Bone would have been the mainstream favorite from Seattle.
Oh yes. And Black Market Radio kicks lots of ***.

That Jay-Z is overrated and that he has only one classic album, Reasonable Doubt. I don't care what anyone says, none of his other albums are classic. Same with Nas. They each had one amazing album as their debut and after that it's been all "good through ehh" albums.
Many people think he's a Top 5 rapper, not me.
And The Blueprint and Stillmatic are the two most overrated albums in the last 5 years. Five mics (not that The Source has meant a thing in years) for these two is a joke. They were both very good albums, I'd give each of them a 4 probably, but nowhere near classic. There's a huge gap between a 4 and a 5, IMO. And I still see so many review sites giving Street's Disciple a perfect rating and so on and so forth. Gimme a break.
Another opinion, many people say the South is running hip-hop....
Uhh, maybe if your view of rap revolves around BET and MTV and that's it. NYC and the Eastcoast is absolutely running this **** right now."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I agree. People throw around the word "classic" WAY too often. I rememebr everyone sayng Get rich or die trying and college dropout were classics, there are not many classics.
A classic is an album that is still remembered for 10 years down the road, and has huge influence on a genre. Illmatic to me, si by far the best hip hop album of all time. It is, IMO hip hop's equivalant to pink floy'd wall CD. It is that good.
Classic Cd's should almost be in the single digits. Instead, everytime a good cd comes out, people want to use the C word.
Although I think It was written was very good, it is no more than 4 stars.Comment

Re: Your opinions in Music that many would disagree with
About 10% of today's hip hop music is worth listening to.
The "Golden Era" of hip hop was between 1984-1994.
Even the best of today's hip hop couldn't touch 10% of the hip hop from the "Golden Era".
One hot album("Ready to Die") does not make Notorious B.I.G. the best rapper of all time.
"Life After Death" couldn't hold a candle to "Ready to Die".
Tupac's best album was "Don Kaluminadi: the 7 day theory".
The strangest album in hip hop history was Nas "Illmatic". It had the best lyrics put on wax combined with some garbage basement beats.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment
