The only radio station i listen to is NPR. Its not my fault that i dislike 98 percent of rap music. I hate 95 percent of rock music. I hate almost 100 percent of country music. Im extremely close minded when it comes to music.

Where do you get the 98% from? Have you heard every rap song or every artist? You sound like you have barely heard any rap at all.

I'm just saying that Audioslave isn't half as good as RATM or Soundgarden for that matter. Diet both. Yes, they have a different style/sound, but it just doesn't catch my ear.

If i dislike 10 out of 10 rap songs i hear, then it would be safe to say that i dont like it. Ive heard alot of rap music, everyone and their mother listens to it. Its all over television, in every single club you go into. These are just my personal opinions. Im simply following the topic of the discussion. With that in mind I expect the majority of people to disagree with me.

That doesn't mean that I can't question why you would say that. You are not hearing any good rap if you are listening to the radio and clubs. It's amazing that someone can be that ignorant.

Why would i seek out rappers to listen to when i dont even like the style of music to begin with??? If spaghetti-O's make me barf every time i eat a bowl then, im not gonna run to the grocery store and buy the 50 different types of Spaghetti-O's with the hopes that one of them wont make me sick.

That is a completely different situation. Unlike your spaghetti-o scenario, you say that you like early to mid 90's west coast rap, so obviously not every type makes you sick. What I want to know is how you are going to make an idictment of every type of rap with the exception of early to mid 90's west coast rap when all you have heard is mainstream crap.

I'm not saying that he is ignorant for not liking it, what I am saying is that it's ignorant to proclaim an entire genre of music without actually listening to some of the music with substance. If I went only by what I heard on the radio or saw on tv then i would hate all music.

I'm ok with that. I am very picky when it comes to music, but saying that you dislike 98% of an entire music genre is just ignorant. You could devote your entire life to listening to every rap song ever made and not even come close to listening to half of what is out there.

but yeah mainstream rap has really gotten bad. maybe its me jus getting old but all i've been listening to are all my old wu tang cds, nas, az, jayz, outkast, lost boyz. even all the club jamz from b4 are way better.

Yeah little brother is good and I'm surprised that so many people on here like them as much as I do. But there's a lot of other guys out there that are great too and the sad part is, they don't get any pub at all. It's amazing that people can listen to the crap that's on the radio and then think that it's good.

Rap isn't usually good... and the only music that is always good is Renaissance music when sung by me.
