Thanks Drag. It happened once before with NBA 2K but has worked fine the rest of the time. After going through 4 PS2's I am just expecting it to break. Hey what's that dark rain cloud doing up there?

It happened a little earlier, when I was trying to play the Saints Row demo. The game froze just as I started playing. I turn the system off, then back on, and got 3 red lights. So I did exactly what it said to do on Xbox.com, but it didn't work.
My 360 is under warranty with Microsoft though, so it's not so bad.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

I somewhat feel your pain, yesterday I had the TV repair man come and take the guts out of my HD rear projection on the way to the shop for repair. When he told me that it could take 7-14 business days, I was like ouch. I have to hookup my 360 to my 30" HD for the time being, but I don't think I'm going to be hooking the 360 back up to the RP when I get it back. I sometimes worry if the gaming had something to do with the problem, but what are you going to do.
If you could keep us updated on your experience, that would be cool. I have a 2yr warranty through MS also for the 360 and I've heard good and bad stories.Comment

Well everything was fine. I had an occasional freeze but overall my 360 was working well until..... I downloaded the NCAA demo and it froze about 25% of the time. I figured it was just a demo so there might be some bugs in it. I buy NCAA and started playing it like crazy. It froze a couple of times on the first day and I thought maybe it was just overheating since this was the first game I really put in some marathon gaming sessions with.
Well it got to the point where it was freezing 50% of the time even after getting a replacement disk from Gamestop. I read here at OS that for some people these were the early symptoms before their entire 360 died and that Microsoft was telling them it would be $140 to get it fixed. At this point I didn't know what to do.
I decide to call MS to see if somehow I can get a warranty on my 360 even though its past 90 days. I get a rep from overseas and we are having some serious communication problems right of the bat. Which I'm thinking is to my advantage. At some point I'm expecting her to see I signed up for Live 4 months ago and actually had to call for some help and for her to tell me it's too late to get a warranty. But not so fast my friends!
I could tell she knew something was up, but she asks me when I got my console. Now I'm normally an honest person, but I make up some B.S. story about how my roomate gave it to me as a gift a week ago and she buys it. So I think I'm home free and she says she'll sign me up for a 1 year warranty for $32.00. At this point the conversation goes completely haywire. She asks me for my name, address, and credit card # no less than 7 times. I want to hang up but I figure this is my only shot at getting a warranty. Finally she says I'm signed up and I'm a happy camper until....
I look at my bank account online today and see I was charged 3 times for the warranty. Karma's a bitch. I call them and the rep says "Wow, they did charge you 3 times." He proceeds to tell me there is nothing he can do and I have to write a letter to MS in Washington. I want to tell him to get a supervisor on the phone, but if they really look into my account they will see I shouldn't have been allowed to get the warranty in the first place.
The point of this novel is I do live in Florida and they gave me a warranty. As for NCAA its still freezing every other game, but all my other games are working. I plan on writing this letter and getting my money back. As long a my other games work I'm going to hold off sending in my 360 till this other stuff is cleared. And to anyone who read this whole thing that has not bought a next gen console yet BUY THE WARRANTY!!!!!!!!Last edited by DIESEL; 08-03-2006, 11:50 PM.Good job! Good effort!Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
I have a fairly new 360 only a couple of week. I live in Jax FL. I got a 2 year warranty just fine. No questions asked. I keep my house 74 degrees or cooler with a ceiling fan on while I do play the box. I have been lucky so far with my box360 working.Comment

Re: Official 360 Problems
My original launch 360 died after 3 weeks. Fortunately I've had zero problems with my replacement 360 (knock on wood). How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.Comment
